so, distant terrain mod, fixed now thanks to bethesda, snow

anyone else nice and pleased with em for the better snow lod in patch 1.5, when using improved distant terain mod, the snow didnt look rite but now it looks good, so theres now no down side to better distant terrain mod, THANKS BETH, snow now looks nice and clear instead of having loads of black crap over it

yeah im still a little confused with the grass shadows, cant really tell what its done, someone said it now casts shadows onto the grass, so if theres an object over the grass it will be a shadow on the grass is that correct, i allways thought there were shadows on the grass

Level Of Detail if I recall correctly (so stuff further away has less LOD, while stuff closer has more LOD). but I maybe be thinking something else

yeah, it's Level of Detail. Basically, a block can pass as a ball if it's far enough that you can't tell the difference. The farther the object is from you, the less detailed it gets. This saves resources and improves performance.

The land near you can be bumpy, but the lands far away are really just a sheet of paper with blocky stuff added in
