DLC 10mm Pistol + Silencer = god hand : Fallout: New Vegas

Ok I've played a total of 10hrs ran around everwhere with my DLC stuff. Finally got some upgrades and found the 10mm silencer mod. I had decided to improve my hardened 10mm pistol so i added the silencer thing cool i'll be sneaky. Well i added the silencer then equiped it and got out of my pip boy and i was amazed to see everything got brighter, (my screen gama turned way up) everything became daytime+++ and there was no weapon model or sprite or anything just my hand glowing bright and when i shot the god hand it was silenced and whatever i aimed at was insta death so thanks to bethesda and gamestop for giving my character a new trait. The Smightful Touch. or The Golden Finger. or The Itchy Trigger Finger

We already had a report on this bug. It came with a screenie...

Aside from the issue I'm posting about, I have had no problems with New Vegas, so far. However, when I attached the 10mm silencer to the Weathered 10mm Pistol, I encountered a rather interesting bug. The gun model disappeared from the game, and this is what I got.

Same thing just happened to me. It might be worth noting that the first time I hovered over the weathered 10mm there was not R or X option. I switched to "Misc" then back to "Weapons." There was the X (Mod) option. Applied Mod. "God hand" resulted.

Steps:
(Veronica added as companion)
1. Talked to merchant. Exhausted all dialogue lines.
2. Bought 10mm silencer. Did not buy/sell anything else. Exited.
3. Immediately hit TAB to enter PipBoy. (Items/Weapons already selected)
4. Scroll to then hover over Weathered 10mm. (No X or R option)
5. Switch to Misc Tab. Clicked on silencer.
6. Switch back to Weapons Tab. Press X. Apply Mod.
7. Hit Tab to exit Pip Boy.
8. Press hotkey (4 in my case) for Weathered 10mm.
9. Click left mouse. Enjoy bright screen.
10. Click left mouse again. No sight/sound except complaint from the merchant to watch it.
11. Switch weapons with hotkey to another weapon. Bright "God hand" screen goes away.

Not all of that may have been necessary, but there it is.

See my thread, there's a fix for it there. I tested it and it works. I had the exact same issue with my weathered 10mm and a silencer.

I have the big red exclamation mark still on my game where I either modded or dropped the gun. I can't pick it up and when I deleted and reinstalled the game it took away all of my DLC. Does anyone know how or even if its possible to reinstall the dlc so it appears in inventory again?
