I am picking up a retail copy of NV this evening. trading in my xbox copy toward it. switching to PC(yay) as I have been for all my games over the last few months. My question is, I noticed the retail version is GFWL. While I'm not a big fan it is what it is. Can I still download the DLC from Steam if I have a GFWL copy, or do they have their own download service? Thanks.

Last I recall the game is steamworks, meaning you have to register it to steam. It may be a GFW but not GFWL.

Maybe you are right. I just saw the box on gamestop.com and saw "windows" at the top. Almost no experience with GFWL. thanks.

New Vegas is not a Games for Windows Live title, it's a Steamworks title -- the DLC is all downloaded via Steam.
