DLC for skyrim better be big.

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 9:50 am

I am getting very antsy for skyrim dlc. Although FNV ultimate edition is keeping me busy. I hope we get new areas, enemies, and armor. It better be good for how long we are waiting. The longer we wait the higher the expectations get. C'mon Bethesda! Dont disappoint.

I hope so too and they have said that they'll will release fewer but bigger add ons but you never know until it's out but it's soon 7 months passed until skyrim was released so i think they're big.

I thought i won't be disappointed after how fantastic Skyrim was, then they suddenly announced ESO lol.

Granted its not done by Bethesda, but feh~ im a lil wary of what the DLC is going to offer.
Hopefully it has nothing to do with ESO thats all i can hope for.

Have you never played SI? I'm expecting something around that size.

It would be sad if the new DLC is short and light on content. I have a feeling it will be rather large like SI was.

They already said way back that DLC will be big but not bigger than SI. They used Fallout 3's Point Lookout DLC as a benchmark for Dawnguard.

ESO is simply going to crush any of the single player TES games. Unless you like modding they really have a very limited lifespan and are tiny in comparison to what you can get in an mmo. You can see all the threads of people already getting bored because once you've been through the game a couple times you've seen everything. ESO will offer you far more replayability. I'm sure there will be far more classes, better and deeper magic systems, you won't be able to get a Godlike character in 20 hours of playtime, the world size will be simply huge compared to Skyrim, the list goes on.

You will also have far more updates and changes instead of waiting for dlc from Bethesda once a year. You'll have other people to talk to and group up with, the game will be harder...I can't wait for it.

Opinion

Really?
You really sure that is his opinion?

Well, I share his opinion. I'll be waiting for others to review the DLC before I buy it. I bought Skyrim on day one and was seriously disappointed by the vanilla game's effort.

I'm sure the DLC will be huge. Bethesda have probably spent 6 months working to bring us the greatest, largest, most detailed, most epic, most complete and lore friendly horse armour DLC they possibly can.

Been there, done that in Guild Wars and I think MMO's can go rot. Give me a SP offline game any day over a online MMO-fest. Bethesda isn't even making that thing. Meh.

I look forward to the DLC Bethesda is working on. Meanwhile I'll play Skyrim and or some Doom or something.

And then they'll retcon the armour so that it can have miniguns.

I'm looking forward to ESO, but in the meantime, I'll be busy with Skyrim.

It's nice to see that Bethesda aren't rushing Dawnstar, though I'm curious as to how many dlc they have planned, and how long it will be in between them. It's been 6 months and the only details are what people found in the game files.

Regarding TESOL (The Elder Scrolls OnLine):
I am hopeful that it is an extremely enjoyable game. However, as far as I can tell, the history of MMO games in the industry is not encouraging. Perhaps TESOL will break the mold and really have some legs.

Regarding the upcoming Skyrim expansion and the possibilty of future expansion packs:
Bethesda is screwing up here. They could make BILLIONS of $ if they created a program that would allow groups of modders and/or developers to develop storylines and content independently. Bethesda could serve as the ultimate storyline editor and SW QA clearance house before the DLC's/expansions were released, and take a cut of the profits in return. It could all be managed thru a licensing scheme.

WAKE UP, BETHESDA.

Story-driven mods would certainly give Skyrim some legs. They'd certainly be at the top of my list.

I loved FO3 and was wanting to get FO:NV UE as soon as the price dropped. Well it dropped and I don't want to stop playing Skyrim. But I got to really. I need to put it down and just wait until the new DLC comes out for the PC, which should be months from now. Plenty of time to play FO:NV right? Yeah that's what I'll do ... as soon as I finish this new character design I thought of last night...

Point lookout felt... smallish... to me. It left me wanting more :S Hope they fleshed out the design to make it feel crowded and action packed.
