Dlc tardiness and what it means.....

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:54 pm

Perhaps its time to give cusomters an alternative to steam(ing pile of fail).... perhaps sell the dlc from your own site make this a non issue. Maybe I'm going overboard but i wanted to play this earlier while I have the day off not have to wait more because steam cant get their act together... forcing steam on us already put a bad taste in my mouth.... now this failure on Valves part only reinforces my disdain for steam as they seem to not even care for their customers not even giving any answers on their forums that i can see pathetic on their part. Now I really hope you guys keep this in mind when deciding how to release futures games... To steam or not to steam (hopefully not to) perhaps move towards selling dlc from your own site and cut out the (fail) middle man. I have always been a fan of Bethesda since playing TES Morrowind I only hope that you choose not to shove steam down peoples throats in the future because now its more than the dlc being late its the fact that they wont even answer us as to why... nothing but silence from the company, pitiful customer service, you guys answer and have no doubt being trying to find answers for us but it seems like Valve doesn't want to answer the customers or another company as to what is going on.

p.s. keep moving forward Bethesda... leave valve behind in their silence and poor customer service..

Valve/steam is really all that bad. Maybe you should contimplate the pro's and con's of steam before the flaming pile of lengthy gibberish I chose not to read because its in one massive wad.

Lets see your silly little retort to this because I'm sure you cant have a "really devoted fan" like me gumming up your lame and self-centered rant thats is so conviently placed here in the forums.

btw you cant force the willing

I doubt its cost effective for a company the size of Bethesda to have a download store when Steam can do the job much cheaper, and more efficiently.

Okay, there's a problem today, but what about every other day when it works fine?

The only reason I see steam being used is for DRM which there are other options for... If i had the option of getting the game without steam I would gladly do so.

I must say I'm rather enjoying this delay watching everyone tear themselves apart over a silly dlc, kids these days always fail social experiments.

btw the expendature of both creating your product and selling it is immense. Bethsda/obsidian are actualy thinking economicly for this. Its kinda like working at a fabrication plant without a store, without the store to match the needs of the public the "factory" shuts down because people cannot buy their product or don't know about it. In steam's case its clients are world wide. I'd like to see anyone hear tackle those issues reguarding that mess.

There's a reason Beth stopped selling DLC from their site for everything after Oblivion. It's expensive. Also, as anyone who's downloaded Oblivion DLC will remember, the system for getting DLC was terrible.

Frankly, I'll take a day's delay over having to wrangle with the gamesas store again.

The point is we want some response. We're all real tired of radio silence. We want reassurance that their listening (which it kinda seems like they aren't)

Which would you rather have: HH sooner because they had their engineers working on fixing the problem rather than writing reports for a whiny subset of the fanbase, or HH later because their engineers had to take time away from fixing the problem to write reports for a whiny subset of the fanbase?

It's just some DLC. It'll take you like 5 hours to beat it. I think you can wait another day. I find these kinds of threads appalling. It really shows the entitlement culture plagueing humanity these days. It's, quite frankly, disgusting.

It's not really what we're getting at. We're faithful Fallout supporters. We dedicate ourselves to something, take off work, school, etc... and this just happens too often.

No, but for the people who do talk to customers to be able to tell things to customers, the engineer has to speak to someone. Outages cost money - engineers fix problems. Talking makes outage longer, talking costs money.

If you're talking a day off work, or school to pay a video game on release day, you're wasting your life and need to think about your priorities.

If you take off work for DLC, I don't even know what to say. That's just... wow. Insane. You should really get your priorities straight.

I took off school, well who wouldn't for anything, but some people enjoy a day off. To play a DLC for a game you really enjoy. Gamers will be gamers.

I had today off anyway because of a death in my bosses family and the funeral was today, no one else is qualified to run the dealership so we all got the day off. This was just going to be a bonus for today but it looks like I've spent my day doing pretty much nothing at all, I'm not going to whine and complain about Valve's lack of competency today because they where dead on with dead money last time. So to all of you who are complaining the only thing I can say is if you have a better idea or can do better then Valve start your own direct-to-PC gaming service and prove it.

Well. Sorry, I'm not by my game distributing company right now. But we, the people, deserve better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2e3ukCKzSpg&feature=channel_video_title

So sorry - Um why are you blaming Steam?

I mean for Dead Money the game was advertised as coming soon on Steam for a while before its release including the countdown timer.
Yet for todays release there has been nothing on steam to advertise it is coming .... sounds to me like the problem is on Bethesda and I bet it has XBOX behind it.
