Docter docter, my xbox needs help!

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 3:23 am

My machine is still displaying games, dvd's and the dashboard fine. When I play a video from the "Inside Xbox" tab, the white background around the Xbox logo is now purple. The video itself is purple too, although I can still see it.

Who among you have any idea what this is?
Is it a sign of worse things to come?

Could it be a problem with the TV?

Could it be a problem with the TV?

Nah the TV is new, and it works fine for everything else.I did however, have to switch to using HDMI for my Xbox. Before I used the component cable. The settings are all good and I am sure I didn't screw anything up there.I also was able to display Inside Xbox videos just fine for the first few days after i got the TV.

Google only brings me to people who get a green tinge on everything.Apparently its a sign that the GPU in the console is failing.I saw nothing that is like my problem.I hope someone here has an idea about this, as the components in the Xbox are the same as PC.

I had yellow vision on my PS3 once. Turns out one of the contacts on the RBG-cable had been bent upwards so it never recived any contact with the machine.

I was wondering if my HDMI cable was the problem but it displays movies and games just fine. The dash looks normal too.I also have tried this on the three tv's in my house, so it aint that either.

I guess my problem is common enough.Next step of troubleshooting is to give it a good kickin'.Probably don't wanna go there though.
