Does anyone else feel Werewoves get outclassed in later game

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 1:49 am

I've been playing for a while, with my werewolf being the highest leveled character, but I'm finding that after a certain point, even form shifting outside of sprinting to locations that I haven't found is pointless. I realize attack and some other stats of your lupine form scale with your level, but it seems even with that your standard form performs better than lupine. Does anyone else have this problem too?
Anyone got advice around it if they have better luckwith their wolves?

I hope they make an update or patch that makes your wolf form up to par at higher levels.

Example maybe six to eleven direct attacks from a high leveled dragons breath kills my character, one in lupine form. Another example, fighting normal draugr, it seems it takes twice to three times as long to kill some of the higher level enemies in wolf form than standard form.

It seems Werewolves are good at early levels then start to fail as you increase in level. I guess the only thing we can do is wait and see if Beth introduce a Lycanthropy perk tree. At higher levels the only advantage I find with Werewolves is the speed bonus while sprinting.

Or maybe in a future DLC include something that can bring the werewolves up to par, because honestly I miss being able to pounce on something and tear its face off... not those things that a level 57 werewolf should be able to mobslaughter be like *arrow to your knee* and lupine forms like *plop* (call the taxadermist)

I don't even think owned is the right way to describe it, thats like calling a nuclear bomb a sparkerler.

If I may make a humble suggestion, head over to Skyrim Nexus and check out the Tales Of Lycanthropy mod. I believe it'll provide you with what you're looking for and more, if not there are other options there as well.

I envy PC users because they can have mods that fix stuff like this, but for people like me who use a PS3 we have no other option. :shakehead:

I hear you, the ability to mod is why I always play games of this nature on PC (TES, Fallout, Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate, etc). I have a PS3 but to be honest we primarily use it for DVDs and streaming. Guess it just depends on your game genre of choice and, of course and more importantly, your budget. If you can manage it though I'd highly recommend playing games of this nature on PC, the mods really do open up a whole new world of gameplay.

I have Morrowind on my PC, but I don't like the controls on the PC, so I prefer the PS3

They're bad a higher levels because Beth broke them. They used to get an armor bonus based on your light armor skill. Beth killed that after like 1.3.

In the 30's my Werewolf Form can almost drop a giant in a toe to toe slug fest.

I have been "pwned" as a werewolf a couple of times but then I realised how my werewolf form works, it's strengths, it's power attacks and special abilities.

You just need to understand how your powers work and you are a formidable beast, at least as high as level 30.

Maybe it's all downhill from there?

That is when it starts going down hill, the only redeeming thing about werewolves is their sprint power attack that is almost a one hit kill on most enemies. But if you can't do that then you are screwed.

Vampires are 10000% times better than werewolves, unfortunately. Wolves are only a good replacement for horsies and they have disease immunity. Not sure if vamps do as well.

Can't you use the PS3 controller on a PC? Not my preference but I could have sworn I read somewhere you could do that?

Aren't PS3 controllers USB? If not, I'm sure adapters are easy to find.

If I could play Morrowind with a PS3 I would play it I just can't stand the computer controls.

Same here; I started playing this on 360. I had a friend give me a PC that could run Skyrim, but I couldn't use the keyboard. My 360 controller works like a charm.

Yes. Unbelievably so.
It's kind of similar to Mega Man X3.
In the beginning of it using Zero is a huge badass, slicing up everything with his saber and generally ruling every ones ass.
Yet later on once X gets his own upgrades, Zero becomes not only worse than X, he becomes a liability to staying alive.

Same with werewoves. You become a liability at higher levels.

Not only do vampires have a disease immunity, they're also immune to poisons, and can become completely immune to all forms of magic by combining the Necromage Perk, Atronach Perk, and the Atronach Stone.
