I plan on getting this game. I know I got Fallout 3 and what it entailed. I know they use a few swear words. I also taught my son, just because he hears them, he dosn't need to repeat the words. I know the violence is way over the top and the gore dosen't bother me at all. So to me, F:NV looks like it will be like Fallout 3, so I am not too worried about it.

But I like to do my homework and I may have missed a few things. So from previews, or maybe someone from Bethesda can say something in advance, is there something I should be worried about showing my 9 year old son. The only thing I told him he can't do in Fallout 3, is buy any furnishings for his home in Megaton. I don't need him to have an Austin Powers type room. You know the 2 people doing the "dance" on the cealing. I was going to get GoW2, but that gore was too much, I didn't get the game. This gore I am not to worried about. After all, what boys don't like this eh?

So what should I be aware of? I am trying to keep away from spoilers so nothing is ruined for me, but now I may not doing my homework properly. So without spoiling any stories, what should I be worried about in F:NV. Swearing I don't care about, he is taught not to say anything what he hears in movies, games or on the Street.

I would hate to miss this game, but if I find out about stuff that I should be worried about, then I will have to miss out on this game.

Violence is okay, but six isn't? FONV is prolly the perfect game for your under-age kid then. Either let them play the game, or act like the advlt you must be and teach them that they just don't get to play/watch/read everything that Dad does...

Well, it's from some of the guys who made FO2 and they seem to be bringing back the [censored] houses which were prominent in FO2 and there is a creepy robot name Fisto that you can apparently have some sort of sixual adventure where he asks you to "assume the position" so the six might be more of an issue this time around.

As for violence though, just remember to stick to energy weapons which render enemies into ashes or goo rather than blood bursting guts.

So you're not worried about showing a nine year old the level of gore FO offers? That's just sick.

But I can't think of anything else that would be worse.

You can have "Relations" with a robot named Mr.Fisto.

Well considering how many little kids play modern warfare 2, throwing a knife into a guys eye is also kinda sick. But hey, the kids these days play every thing they can get their hands on.

That's prosttutes, strippers, Fisto the robot, jet and other chems, and Elvis.

I can't believe this needs to be said, what with the rating clearly printed on the box, but it's not a kid's game by any stretch of the imagination, and personally, I'd wait until my kids were in bed/at school before playing it.

There is some more sixual content than in the last game.

There are sixual themes that would implied in the game and like others have stated about Fisto and the idea of drug usage.Since the intense gore and violence in NV is alright,I'm guessing that the sixual and drug nature in the game wouldn't be a major problem if you watch with the dialog.

I wouldn't really consider the gore in Fallout 3 gory. Well if going up agaisnt other TES games, then yeah it's gory but it's really over the top gore, that it's nothing worse than what they show on TV sometimes. This is on prime time. You ever see the comercials they show there?

Unless the gore in F:NV is different, I am not concerned. From the videos I have seen, they look the same, so unless something has changed, I am not worried about the gore. It just dosn't look real in my eyes. Then again, what kid dosn't like exploding guts in a game eh?

The strippers now, that is something for concern. So is it just like the Souther Delights in Suran in Morrowind? I can't see a game having full fledged strippers and them taking actual clothing off. If this was the case then then the game will be rated AO. But still I need to lern more about this. Maybe it's not a day one buy for me then, till people can tell me more.

Thanks for letting me know about the strippers. My eyes will be opened more now, I didn't know this. Damn, going to be a shame if I can't play this game.

FO3's gore isn't that realistic. I mean you've got raider hideouts where there's tied down remains of people with their limbs/head chopped off but w/e. and you can eat people but again w/e

It's always amused me though, why is nudity seen as being worse than violence in america?
Never understood that, I remember growing up and watching Jurassic Park and my parents allowing it, but if some [censored] showed up in a movie or late nite show the TV set was turned off.

It's rated Mature. The only one who can make such determinations is the kids parents which seems to be you. I would suggest you play it in private until such time you are satisfied the content is not too mature for your child or that it is. There will be no encouragement here to say do so but rather encouragement to make that decision by yourself and then to assume responsibility for such a decision.
