Does anyone know the weaponshield blocking stats?

Comparing the base blocking damage absorption from light shields, heavy shields, daggers, swords, axes, maces, greatswords, battleaxes, warhammers and torches.

Also how the % damage absorption increases as you get better item quality, for example how much better is a daedric dagger than an iron dagger.

Anyone have a link to this information?

All weapons block same amount of damage. 42% at 0 skill 60% at 100 skill. (It is a bit strange that an iron dagger blocks as much damage as a daedric warhammer.)

Better shields block more, but not much. Iron Shield blocks 50% to 56%, Daedric Shield blocks 53% to 63%.

Improving an item through smithing has no effect on block performance. An unimproved shield blocks just as well as a legendary shield. (But it's still good to improve them for armor rating improvment, of course.)

Fortify Block Enchant is very very good. You get +40% damage reduction with max enchanting without potion. And that gives you 84% block with any weapon at 100 skill without taking any perks.

Damage Reduction cap with block is 85%.
