Does Bethesda give public consent for posting youtube videos

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 3:00 am

Hello all,

I run a youtube channel that has Skyrim videos for helping my fellow gamers do better at the game. Recently one of my videos (one below) was almost removed by youtube because I didn't have specific consent from Bethesda to be able to post my videos (and have ad revenue from them). The hardest part is actually trying to find where to get consent and who to talk with. Customer service was no help when I called them and I also called a couple folks at Bethesda to get back to me as to what to do? My channel has generated 400k+ views just from my Skyrim videos and I would imagine that level of visibility is invaluable to Bethesda for selling additional copies of the game. If there is a mod/community manager from Bethesda that can point me in the right direction or give me a link to where Bethesda releases Consent to post videos of their games that would be very very helpful.

Thank you all

I have never heard of people needing consent from Bethesda in order to post a video, although with SOPA in the tubes, it might become a reality.

Well in light of the recent mess with Intertplay's license to do a FallOut MMO I rather think Beth can not be trusted to play nice in such matters.

Just posting them is fine. It is trying to make money from the posting that is the issue.

Gstaff will have to sort this out.
