Im not talking about whether it fixes the game breaking lag, just the general performance.. is the game smoother overall? (bar when hitting the memory lag)

In my experience it does improve it, but you'd still want to restart the game every once in a while.

In my experience no. It makes the game run better for 5 minutes, but then LAG.
