Dog/God Glitch

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:42 am

I have read the topics about Dog/God and read how to fix most of the glitches, however, this one seems to be an exception. Ever since I let Dog/God follow me I have never been able to speak to him. I have played the audiotapes over and over again, I have completed all the missions up to where I actually need him, I have deleted my 360 cache, removed the dead money DLC, reinstalled it with all of it's current updates, and still no fix. It seems to me it would have to be a problem with the Fallout: New Vegas disc or maybe even the owners 360; this thought is because of someone having the same problem played on a slim and "said" it fixed the issue, and everyone who has the problem says that if they start the game new or even wipe all their saves, dlc, and cache, still have the same issue, so it seems to be dug deeper than the actual dlc Dead Money. If anyone has any idea on how to resolve this issue, along with any other glitches in the foreseeable future, please inform me.

It clearing the 360 cache, it's possible you got to a point where you were playing the content without the latest update for Dead Money installed. I'd suggest making sure the update is installed, and then roll back to your latest save before getting the Dead Money quest prompt.

so those who are level 25 and saved over the point before going to the dead money add on are now screwed? Is there any way to salvage the save game?

i have the same problem as you and aslo have tried every possible way around the dog/god glitch. I doubt it's a bug on the disc it self, where as all the dlc content is stored on the hard drive. Somone further down suggested clearing the cache, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and to no avail i've done those things. after reinstalling the patch and the dead money dlc and reverting to my pre dlc save i go to the abandoned b.o.s. bunker and it locks me out stating (a key is required). so once this happend i cleared my cache again, then reinstalled the dlc without doing the patch, and what do you know, i can enter the bunker and start the dlc. however once i get back to the portion of the dlc where i get all three followers at the fountain, dog is still gitched out and has the same diolouge he did when he was trapped in his cage, once again i apply the update and nothing changes. i've litterally read every suggestion out there to try and help this problem and none work, ive sent dog to the fountain, sent god to the fountain, and taken both as companions, played both holotapes at the fountain etc. at one point i actually killed dog, and surprisingly this glitch is so bad that nothing happend, the quest did'nt fail, my head didnt blow up, dogs body just lays on the ground. So i really hope bethesda is releasing a patch specifically for this glitch, i know there are many many other players out there with this same problem. i feel as though if i pay 10 dollars for the dlc it should work (especially with me trying so hard to make it work regardless of this terrible bug) without me having to spend hours troubleshooting.
