Dogmeat returning or not. : Fallout: New Vegas

I was wondering should we look for dogmeat this time around? Or should i accept that i am stuck with the weird robotdog thing?

I think its just rex, but who knows maybe they have companions they haven't shown off yet. I doubt will have another dogmeat though.

Oh yeah, almost forgot about the hanged man. Wasn't there "The Hanged Man Walks!" sprayed onto a wall in Primm IIRC?

It was actually written on the billboard on the back from an article "the burning man walks" so it might be the cameo of the hanged man or somthing to do with the burning man festival in the Nevada desert.

If there is another Dogmeat, he'll probably be exclusive to those with the wild wasteland trait, or just a well hidden easter egg. Rex is probably what we get, but it's still possible (though unlikely that Dogmeat is flitting between the coasts every three years).

However, as I've said in an earlier thread; I want a gecko!

Burning/Hanged Man is most likely not a CL oriented companion after what they did to him.

I really dont want Dogmeat, it wasn't that i hated him it's just the fact that if/when he gets killed i feel so freaking guilty/sad.

Dogmeat belongs to somebody else, and the animal is on the east coast...

So you should accept the weird robot thing, don't you think its cute?

Dunno why another dog called Dogmeat would be in New Vegas.

Considering that there's a Caeser's Legion character who gets his jollies from burning people alive, it's more likely the former. Besides the Burning Man festival was established in the mid 80s and may not have existed in the Fallout world.

As for Dogmeat, I'm glad he's not in the game, and honestly I hope he's not in any other future Fallout games either.

That is not the real Dogmeat. The real Dogmeat was actually on the West Coast and died in FO1. In FO2 he was a easter egg in a random encounter. In FO3 you could consider him an easter egg but due to many reasons that I won't explain I think he's just a regular dog named Dogmeat.

I like the Rex, I'm glad they are giving the dog the FO2 style treatment and not bringing Dogmeat back for the 4th time.

It would be nice to have a regular, non-robotic dog for those who don't like Rex (especially if he talks). I'm not saying that I wouldn't like Rex, but some people probably don't.
What's interesting is that Rex seems like he's going to be CL oriented because of his description. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Arcade will lean towards CL, given that he has a "sacrifice for the greater good" type attitude.

This, i just want a regular dog to explore the wasteland with, just a adventurer and his dog was the best way. Not a cyborg dog with heat seeking missles.
