Dogs - A Trusty Companion, even in Death.

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 6:49 am

I got a tear in my eyes when i saw this.
This was so beautiful, and IRL i LOOOVE Dogs, they are my favorite Animal. Second is wolves, but anyway. Take a look at this.

I was walking in the woods, then i found a Shack, i thought: "Let's see who lives there or what is inside."
When i entered i saw a dead man and a dog, i was like: "Did this Dog killed him ?!?!"
But then i saw his Journal in the table, i opened it and read it. When reading it i got a tear in my eye, and then when i closed the journal i realised that the Meeko he was talking about, was his Dog ! And his dog was right next to him, alive. Never saw such a friendship, a companionship between man and dog in all my hours playing this game.. This was incredible.

Here take a look, read the Journal: http://i43.tinypic.com/1183qkx.jpg

And look this screenshot i took from Meeko with his master: http://i44.tinypic.com/x6aoag.jpg

After seeing this, i picked up some flowers and i threw all over his body.. i was so emotional that time.. It was a beautiful but also sad view.. That's why i love Dogs, trusty companion in life and death.

I also found this shack, but for the life of me I couldn't find the dog. He was nowhere to be found.

Depending on the time of the day, he will be or hunting some food or in the shack.. I went there two times, the first i didn't see the dog, so i went away.. But then another time i went there and the dog was there.

I found the shack, the dog was nowhere to be found. Until I went to the main road, where he was sitting, waiting for somebody to come by so he could get them to help his master.

I didn't see a dog when I went there, though I did the journal...

You're going to hate me for this part but...

I revived the nord, then decapitated him, but he turned to ash.

Same.. i was on the road, and the dog stopped me, and started to run in the direction of the Shack, then i thought, i suppose i need to follow him, when i went there, there was the man laying in the bed, dead.. The i could "talk" with the Dog, and there was an option in the dialogue to say: "What's wrong boy ? Did you want to come with me?"
Then i clicked it, and now he is my companion. :D
I think that his master would think its better for Meeko to come with me.. Otherwise Meeko would stay in the shack sad for all his life.. :(

DOGS ARE AWESOME

EDIT: @Grace1957 i took him with me. :D He is my loyal companion now.

And it's reasons like this that Bethesda is the best game developer out there. So many little details. The little stories that they put in random houses and dungeons. Great story. Haven't encountered it yet myself, but this is certainly the types of experiences that make Elder Scrolls so memorable.

I wish Meeko would stay in my house after "adopting" him. I hate coming to an empty home and seeing "your companion grew tired of waiting and left." Meeko, you're old master is dead, you can't stay by his side forever!

The barking itself wouldn't bother me(I'm a dog person) but I was wondering if it effects your sneaking.

Meeko died a brave but stupid death.

He was great with wolves and spiders but should never have taken on a Vampire Master 'POOF' ashes.
I felt bad but he was getting on my nerves, always under foot in a tight fight. Shoulda sent him home.

Hi

I haven't found this yet but I'd like to have a dog in the game!

I have a problem with the wolves in the game, especially the dark ones.

They look exactly like my dog, same size, color and build as my dog Oliver.

It makes me feel really guilty when I kill them, especially when it does one of those close up animations of the kill.

My dog is big, if you visualize a dog that standing next to your dinning room table is 5 inches taller then the table top, to the top of his back just standing on all fours.
His head is another foot + above that. When he's sitting on the floor and I'm sitting on my sofa watching TV, he looks down at me. LOL

Meeko died as my companion because he charged into a camp of bandits. I was trying to sneak up on them, but no, once again he charges off and ruins an ambush. I didn't mind so much as I had grown tired of his non stop barking.

I found Meeko in the woods with a dragon flying overhead, slayed the dragon only to find Meeko barking at me, I followed him to the shack and saw this... really upsetting for me.

He is a Scottish Deerhound.
He's 4 years old, we also have a 3.5 year old female named Lucy, she's about three quarters of his size.

I have had Deerhounds for ever, Oliver and Lucy are our 16th and 17th Deerhounds, and Oliver is the great, great, great, great grandson of our first Deerhound Brynna.
