Mirmulnir at level 10 on Master mode is haaaaaard. Especially when trying to use the ruins as LoS cover is not as reliable as I'd like.

HOW ARE YOU BREATHING FIRE THROUGH THREE FEET OF STON- I'm dead.

I"ll give this a shot. I LOVE Skyrim challenges. Are there any "rules of engagement" or is level 10 the only requirement?

Oh, it wasn't a challenge as such. Just something I'm doing. I already had a 30 minute duel at level 9 with the boss of Bleak Falls Barrow - not fun when I'm only using a bow.

Go for it!

Lol astral, I ran up the stairs with the barrow boss then lept down and rinse/repeated till he died on master. I think I was level 6, and I did the same only a bow. Didnt take that long tbh though, because I already had a couple of archery perks. I just focused on it for the first few levels and nothing else.

Lol, long fights remind me of a Condemned 2 boss fight.

*figures out pattern to avoid dying, keeps going in pattern for 20 minutes*

Me: "Is this thing going to die?"

Mate: "Dunno, keep going a bit longer"

*carries on for another 5 minutes*

Me: "Tell you what, why dont you look up how you are supposed to do this, whilst I keep this loop going?"

*mate spends at least 5 minutes bringing up gameFAQs, finding a guide and finding the right place*

mate: "ah, your doing it right, but your doing it the stupidly hard and long way, what you should be doing is...."

*boss promptly dies, I progress and take out frustrations on the next set of generic mooks I run into*

Its all in the counter and kicking peoples legs from under them. Get counters down and your laughing. I struggled so much with it too when I first started, but IMO the combat system is fantastic, I've been wanting beth to take a good look at it since I played that game.

Stick with it, and beware the bear

EDIT: Isn't there a curb-stomp insta-kill too? If I'm not mistaken thats key as well. Stagger with a counter, put em on the floor with a kick and go in for the kill. Works like a charm.

Well, at that point in the game during normal progression with normal gear, while on master...he is probably harder than Alduin.

I should try a less hardcoe version of the naked nord challenge. Only thing between him and a monster's tooth is a loincloth or nothing at all(depends on what is in the background if you use the PC) and his sword. He shall start a nudist colony, as well. My challenge is set to adept at most.

Spoiler
I fought Krosis at level 1 with only 2 hours of prep time. It was only adept level, but it was the hardest fight of my life. SUPER fun I might add... and I did it at "real" level 1, not 'don't click level up' level 1. Also, didn't cheese him with terrain or anything... it was a real fight, with what I could gather in 2 hours. I was an orc, which helped for 60 seconds. I got SUPER lucky though, and in his chest there were 2 items with resist frost. Once his fireball staff ran out they were a life saver. I've been meaning to go back to that save, and try again on expert. I ran out of healing potions pretty fast, and had to rely on spells. I don't recall specifically, but I THINK I finished the fight at level 3 or 4.

Bahaha. Yeah I think the breathing fire through walls happens at all forts. It's pretty cool when it happens.

My biggest problem was keeping Faendal alive. I swear it didn't matter how far back I put him, somehow, sooner or later he'd come 'running to my aid' and then die in two hits.

Really, dude? REALLY?

Didn't get Mirmulnir down tonight - switched to taking video for my mod's next ad. Took video of the same 30 second sequence about 50 times. Killed my HDD, hopefully I got some stuff I can use. @_@

Level 10 is probably the worst time to meet Mirmulnir because that's when the level jump happens, and that jump looks very significant. It would have been so much easier if you met him at Level 9.
