I don't know who my character is... (Possible spoilers)

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 5:34 am

I don't know who my character is. He put his life on the line for the empire and yet he killed the emperor without regret. He became Archmage without casting a single spell. He lead the companions and is listener for the brotherhood. He pledges his soul to Nocturnal when his soul belongs to many others already. He is the Dovhkiin and he killed Paarthunaax and betrayed the Greybeards because he was told to. Morals does not come to mind when he is asked to do something, he does things without hesitation simply because he was told to do so. He served all Daedric gods without hesitation.

Who is my character? Can I explain my actions to properly roleplay with him? Is it even possible to roleplay now with the things I have done? After 100 hours of gameplay with him I feel nothing he did ever mattered.

I'd say it isn't possible to roleplay him. Your description was funny, though. =3

Or have him think he is all of those things, but just be insane? I really don't think it'll work xD Sorry

He is a man who helped people, but went too far.... Because he had helped someone destroy the world! But his actions were reversed by Akatosh (God of time and all that) and was cursed to help anyone, or anything with anything they ask of him. Forever. He's also 78, but was cursed at 30, so he looks 30.

And now class, we look back at the Dovahkiin. He destroyed Alduin and saved the world, then he went in the Dark Brotherhood and killed the Emperor, and then he fought for the Empire in the war, and then he became Harbinger of the companions pledging his soul to an eternity in his hunting grounds and then he pledged his soul to the Daedric lord Nocturnal and became leader of the thieves guild, and then because he was so awesome he became leader of the collage of winterhold without casting a single spell, he then helped every single daedric prince regardless of there motive. When he passed on his soul was split into three parts because he pledged his soul to Sovngarde, Hircine's hunting grounds and an eternity with nocturnal, he was amazing, yes, but he was also insane.

My character is your character's twin. Did the same thing. I had a blast. But that is what some were complaining about in these forums - that the game allows you to do and be everything with one character and when it's all said and done nothing the character did in the wold mattered a wit. I started out roleplaying, but I let curiosity get the better of me; I couldn't help it. So if you are a serious roleplayer, it is easy to fall into the trap of doing many other things because npc's are constantly in your face lobbing quests your way.

I am just playing that he is sane but he chooses to be insane but because he does that he becomes insane and then he has little midget babies with alduin playing DJ and porkins with the nose hairs and the toenail clippings and the whatnot.

My first character was like that, and I know well that feeling that you must do / try / see everything. In my mind, that's what first characters are for.

But...

My current (fourth) character is my favorite. And I want to do a lot of stuff with her, with only a few limits. She won't join the Brotherhood because she's already killed them, but other than that, the Civil War (Stormcloaks) is all she's done so far with primary questlines. (She hasn't visited High Hrothgar yet.) But she did get caught up in that abandoned house in Markarth, and that mace, it is mighty and it is powerful. It has the potential to corrupt her slowly. That sweet Nord fighter girl who pledged her loyalty to Ulfric and Skyrim might just slowly become darker in nature as her life progresses. She'll never be an assassin (at least not in an organized fashion), but thief? Perhaps. And her growing desire for power might lead her to pursue magic training at the college as well.

Naturally, she'll end up saving the world, but will she do it because it's right, or because it's hard to enjoy being powerful if the world ends?

So, I think it can be RP'd to a degree, with enough creative thinking. :)

Sounds like Sheogorath is heavily influencing your character.

Don't worry he manages to heavily influences many of my characters as well. Hes just that powerful if you ask me.

You would have a very hard job retconning an RP onto that character. You would be better off starting again with him or a new character.
That character has no "soul" and you need that to RP.

Clinically, he sounds like a psychopath:

* Emotional detachment.
* Lack of remorse or guilt.
* Lack of empathy.
* Superficial charm (able to become Archmage etc, without needing real skills).
* Elevated sense of worth (Dovahkiin).
* Manipulative. (used Paarthurnax)
* Failure to accept responsibility.
* Easily bored. (does what he's told to do simply in order to have something to do).
* Lack of long term goals.
* Criminal behavior. (Murderer, etc, etc).
* Many short term relationships. (multiple Daedric allegiances).

All he's missing is parasitic lifestyle. Don't suppose he's married in order to get 100 gold a day? :D

I'd put him down before he turns on you. :P
