I dont love anyone

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 2:54 am

Man, I remember going INSANE to keep Jauffre and Baurus from being killed during the battle for Bruma.

They were my boys. We hung out together... they were NPCs you could give a [censored] about.

Skyrim seems to seriously be lacking any NPC that I can really give a crap about.

OB had at least: Martin, Jauffre, Baurus, Modryn, That Orc who always called me 'meat' in Cheydinal fighters guild.

It seems to me the flat and short questlines kind of prevent ever getting any NPC interaction that matters in this game.

Are there any NPCs you love in this game?

Love is such a strong word. I am quite fond of most of the Thieves Guild and a few of the Dark Brotherhood. As far as companions go, Benor from Morthal. And that is because he saved my life from some Dragur and I have kept him around ever since.

There were very few fleshed out characters. The ones that (kinda) stand out are:

-Esbern
-Delphine
-Balgruff
-Mjoll the Lioness

Maybe theres a few more, but hardly...

I enjoy traveling with Marcurio. He's an elitist, arrogant ass, but he's also aware that he's no Jarl's court wizard, and if he wants to earn his keep, then he's going to have to carry my stuff, despite his objections.

Actually, I've never felt attached to any characters in Oblivion. Unfortunately this seems also to be the case with Skyrim. The only interesting character I've met is Cicero, and that guy's got a few screws loose.

I'd say the ghost of Lucien Lachance and Karliah are the only two characters in this game that I found to have a speck of character and personality.

Sad but true.

edit; and the daedric princes, they weren't too bad actually.

I like most of the Dark Brotherhood. Bizarrely, they're some of the friendliest people in Skyrim once you're a member. I also like both Ralof and Hadvar, it's kind of disappointing that they don't really do anything past Riverwood.

Hadvar and Ralof are both involved in the Civil War quests, they do more than just take you to Riverwood.

Ah, good. I haven't done the Civil War yet, so I just assumed they sat in their house for the rest of the game.

I really like Brynolf from the Thieves Guild and even though she has barely any dialog I have a fondness for Lydia. She's been with my current character since level 5(now level 41).
