DOOM Fan illustration.

I just wanted to say I’m a huge fan of ID software. I’ve been following you guys ever since Doom, through the John Romero break and onwards throughout all your games. I was a huge Quake DM fan, loved that game nothing has come close IMO for pure DM fun. Quake 2 was amazing although I didn’t have internet at the time it came out so I played alot of bots and LAN games. Doom 3 was also amazing aswell loved the lighting. Arena/Live which I still play online today. Rage I just bought and it looks great now its patched up running in 2560x1600 on my GTX 590 SLI is something to behold, the artwork is something else it’s so organic looking.

Just wanted to show an illustration I’ve done which was inspired by the textures and hellish spaces that I could source online from the original doom game. It’s just your DOOM logo (which I think I one of the most iconic logos of all time) re-textured in my style. It’s a homage to all things ID Software really. It’s going to be put in a red frame to hang on my wall to remind me of the old days when I was a young lad playing in my mate’s dad’s office, DOOM two player DM on the network. Those days are some of my best.

It looks better in real-life the photography doesn’t quite capture it aswell.

As a lifetime Doom fan, I love it :D

The black and white colors and the way you shaded things is so nostalgic, it looks like it would be in the cover of a comic book. It's really nice work.

Very cool!

It looks amazing as is, but are you planning on adding any colour down the line?

Thanks Vynzent "nostalgic" is what I wanted to capture. The old DOOM network games when life was actually much better for me. It's too complicated living in 2011. Long live my happy doom memories.

Sorry Durzo Blint. Nope see's staying black and white. I just wanted to do a play on the old DOOM logo with some more hellish type patterns inside the lettering. You will see I don't use much colour if you check out my site www.gebgraphics.co.uk

Really glad you guys like it I wanted to send a copy to ID Software to see if they like it but I can't get in touch or find an way of contacting them. So this forum is the next best place for it cos it's completely non-profit just drew it cos I love DOOM.
