Did you put each coin down seperately to make an actual mound of gold?

If not then its not even close to over the top...

All my houses have medium piles of gold in them. I did it while I was studying.

Dude expect to say goodbye to all that cash. Caves and dungeons respawn after a set time and anything your leave around will vanish.

Yeh it gets bad when you start making mounds of gold.

The way to do this is drop 1 gold coin at a time on the floor. It looks cool, but time consuming.

Likewise what is AWESOME (that another member here suggested) is to drop gems in the well type thing in the Thieves Guild. Gems float do it makes an awesome sight.

You can place gold in chests, which is what I assumed the op was doing. And also placing item loot around the zone.
