Double Enchanting?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 3:11 am

Can't find on any of the wikia sites explaining specifically whether or not you can double enchant the same effect on a single item.

Example: 2 fortify stamina regen enchants on the same chest piece.

Would like to plan out my enchant setup ahead of time and need to know if this is possible or not. Can anyone confirm this?

Actually you can, in some instances. If you disenchant the same spell from two different items you can enchant the same spell twice on a single item. I don't remember the items that I did this with specifically, but I can enchant Dispel twice. Also, the Mage College robes that already have two spells (like Fortify Destruction and Fortify Magicka Regen) are disenchanted as a single spell. You can then enchant items with three spells (Fortify Destruction, Fortify Magicka Regen, plus a third of your choosing).

How can you disenchant a spell you've already learned? I can't. Must be a PC ability.

I don't see the point.
You typically want something like increased weapon damage or reduced spell cost bad so it had been nice to add it twice, also for utility items like fortify alchemy rings it would be perfect.

Well... for the most part no...

I know the shield of solitude has a different resist magicka than the standard resist magicka. So you can enchant resist magicka twice on the same item.

I don't know if there are any more items like that through.
