Dovahkiin = Enemy of the empire?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 10:01 pm

So...here is a little detail i guess some people overlooked:

At some point in the MQ you are forced to become an enemy of the Thalmor, and, later,if the civil war quests haven't been touched, there is the peace treaty meating, one of the coolest moments of the game, and at this meating, you see the blades, enemy of the thalmor, under the protection of the stormcloaks,as the empire used then as sacrifice in the great war.My point is,since you are forced to affiliate yourself with the blades and become an enemy of the Thalmor,if you help the empire, does that mean you're helping your own enemy since you are kind of an enemy of state? Since the empire is under the Thalmor (not by choice,i know) they would hand you over to the thalmor if asked, while the stormcloaks have no relations to the thalmor.(Ulfric dossier is pretty clear that they don't want either side to win,and it's pretty clear he's not an agent, just an indirect asset)

What do you guys think?

I would imagine that, if given the chance any Imperial agents sent to capture you would probably "fail" to catch you.

You don't have to do that. I've gone straight to Septimus.

Well, my toons who don't do the MQ (all of them since the first, now deleted, one) don't bother with Septimus unless they just want to mess around in Blackreach....

As far as an enemy of the Thalmor.... yes, yes all my toons are exactly that. They never join either the Empire or the Stormcloaks, and they routinely kill every Thalmor they come across - after baiting said Thalmor into attacking first of course.

That's not a valid argument, since it pretty much breaks the story.

But after thinking about this,i don't think i will side with the empire again so soon.

lmao. I hope not. I have as many Imperial characters as I have Stormcloaks.

I read that scene differently than you do. I sorta figured there were so many in the Imperial party that the blades sat a few chairs away from the Stormcloaks because their "faction" is less represented in the summit. I don't believe anyone has ever said one way or the other except for Delphine who clearly believes, as most Nords do, that the Thalmor are all evil and out to get her. (Can't really say as I blame her, either... lmao) Remember, the Blades were disbanded by the Emperor and then hunted by the Thalmor.

I also got, from Tullius' speach at the end of the Stormcloak side civil war chain that the reason the Thalmor are invested in keeping both sides fighting is that the weaker we all are the easier we are to pick clean when they decide to. It's in their best interest if we keep killing ourselves.

You're not an enemy of the Thalmor, btw... just a person of interest.

And if you keep going in the chain you'll figure out you have some harder alliances to decide very quickly when your new friends also place you in a hard spot where it concerns the Graybeards and their leader.

HELP ME PLEASE: How did Septimus come into this? lmao

I have to disagree, after all we do it's pretty clear the thalmor hate us,with good reason.

If they hated you they'd kill you. Period. Like Delphine and Esburn and Ulfric, there's a book somewhere and they're documenting what you do and how you do it.

afterall... you're either a tool or a weapon and they'd like to know if you can be wielded or must simply be destroyed.

I just cut the prisoner loose and attack. "If you know any true Nords, tell them to go to Windhelm and join Ulfric Stormcloak."

If they don't have a prisoner, they're just dead.

No, it doesn't break the story. The greybeards tell you you'll eventually find out your destiny... who says you can't stumble on it in a remote ice cave? Hell, my first playthrough thats what happend. I hate Delphine, telling me I HAVE to help her. Shes an arrogant [censored].

lmao... and now you're where I was and where a number of players have gotten and posted 100's of posts in different threads.

If I'm the Dovahkiin/Dragonborn and the Blades serve me, who the f&%k is she to tell ME what to do? Where's my ability to tell her it was nice knowing her and to step out of my temple 'cause I'm building the Blades my way and I don't like her attitude?

lol

My characters all find their own paths... and not one of them has been one that allied to Delphine after she sent me in to rescue her buddy Esburn and lead her in to unlock the temple that was made for me.

Its really one of the few major complaints I have about the game, it contraditcts itself.

I do now.... got tired of having to pay off bounties. The ONLY thing my toons have ever done to get bounties anywhere would be killing Thalmor. So now I spend a couple of minutes micromanaging the convo so they attack said toons.
