Yo Dovahkiin's soul is like a cake...

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 7:39 am

Everybody gets a piece.

No seriously, anyone find it odd how much of a soul-[censored] Dovahkiin is?

"Sup, Hircine here. Wanna take this curse and be bound to my realm?"
"Totally."

"Hi I'm Nocturnal and I'm interested in your soul. Can I have it or is it already taken?"
"Nope! Still available! You can have it, sweetcheeks."

"Sithis here. [censored] humanity. Oh btw gimme your soul."
"KK."

How does this even make any sense?? D8

But really isn't the dovahkin playing them all. His/her soul is already taken by Akatosh so none of the daedric lords and ladies can really have it. My dovahkin is having a good time playing all the daedric princes and getting their gifts. My dovahkin does the guild quests and then lets other people run them. Nazir for the DB, Tolfdir for the College of Winterhold though she does visit the college every so often to get the respawning goodies in the archmages quarters. She doesn't do the thieves guild because they aren't honorable mostly due to Mavis Blackbriar's influence I think. Companions is the only one she visits regularly to bring Farkas home to see his brother. But the daedric princes having nothing on Akatosh. It's all in how you're role playing the game.

Well, I assume the EVIL PCs are trying to John Constantine the Daderic lords. "Oh, you want my soul? Sorry, it's promised to nine other guys. In the meantime, I'm staying on Earth."

In my case, I'm staying with Akatosh.

But yeah, I'm assuming Akatosh will let you go to Nocturnal or whoever if you promised her your soul.

There's no guarantee of ANYTHING when you concern yourself with entities that literally have forever.YOU made the pact , you may have even made akatosh angry for doing so , you know , because everybody keeps saying this thing that you're his.So they all make a deal and use you like a timeshare. Also the nightingales ending it's kind of implied you did something exceptional and was released from your service.Personally my jury's still out on that one.

I believe the princes would likely game your soul.

Some might cede their claim over it in exchange for perks or future favours from their daedric kin. Those that remain might well steal it - such as Hircine sending his hounds to come grab you from another princes realm and drag you screaming to the hunting grounds. If it got vicious enough or contested enough they might just split your soul into aspects (Seems to be possible, in shivering isles we encounter a village of petitioners who've been split into two versions) and claim a fragment for each of them; in turn those pieces themselves might be stolen and fought over...

...it all bodes very poorly for you ;p

I thought the same thing my first play through. I mean you're soul is promised all over the place, you're champion of X amount of powerful beings. Most of the Daedric Princes think you're the Bee's knees...

Would be nice to complete the guilds without having to exchange your soul, and the price the extra content is the soul.. fair trade.

All the daedric lords are gullible and have no idea what you've already done or promised.

Someone told your soul belong to akatosh. I believe so, since the dragonborn has a soul of a dragon.

Incarnated as a human, your soul is like Alduin's soul. You're bound to akatosh. Your soul can't be absorbed, either alduin's.

Maybe your soul can't be exchanged to the daedras.

Don't know. You're already more powerful than Alduin itself.

Alduin is Akatosh' 'son' for lack of a better word and the Dhovakin is Alduin's son, again for lack of a better term.

So the hero's granddaddy is an Aedra. A lot of Daedra lords will be pissed the day Dhovakin dies!

Strictly speaking, Alduin IS Akatosh. Akatosh, Alduin, Auri el seem to be aspects of the same underlying entity (Think of the holy trinity in Christian mythology); killing one aspect does not end the whole, indeed it's hard to say if it's even possible to kill any of the aspects. Alduin's soul escapes when his body is destroyed, if he is like any other aedra or daedra, he will undoubtedly come back; he must come back - the prophecy of the world eater remains unfufilled and Elder Scrolls are seldom wrong

So here we can see mundus someday WILL end. That's bizarre.
But akatosh is not alduin itself. Don't know much, but they aren't one at all.

Until Skyrim, Alduin was called the Nordic aspect of Akatosh, and some sources claim that Akatosh, Alduin and Auri-el are the same being.

But in the game it's revealed that Alduin is Akatosh's firstborn. Alduin even calls himself the first son of Akatosh.

Remember that lore is contradicting and contamined by ignorance, superstition and falsehoods. That's one of the good things in TES universe. You cannot trust entirely Nordic beliefs or the Scholars of Tamriel. Their knowledge is limited and partial.

You turn into a werewolf during the Companions questline, which means your soul belongs to Hircine.

You join the Nightingales during the Thieves Guild questline, which means your soul also belongs to Nocturnal.

I'm pretty sure there's a soul contract involved with Sithis during the Dark Brotherhood questline

Thanks for bringing back old memories. Now I imagine Alduin wheezing "Dhovakin! I am your father!". Hmmm...I suppose a bound sword could be a substitute for a Light Saber. Lol.

And as others have mentioned, Dovahkiin should have an allegiance to Akatosh and is capable of entering Sovngarde, so...
I think there might even be another I'm forgetting. Not sure...

^This

They'll play ping pong using you. On Sundas Azura got you, by Tirndas it's probably Hircine. Every Last Seed Akatosh gets you, while in First Seed it's Dibella or something.
