Downloading through Steam with physical copy? : V

Hey,

Quick question

If I get a boxed copy of Skyrim for the PC, can I still download the full game through Steam with the CD-key? I don't have an optical drive on my laptop. I can always get the game for xbox though, if that's not the case.

I'm 99% sure you can, you just have to go Games>Activate a product on steam. You might find a more concrete answer on the steam forums though.

Sadly, it's a default setting of that piece of crap called Steam: even though you have a hard copy DVD, Steam wants to download the whole game. So in your case your okay

mine installed from the disk straight away with no problems. But yes op you can download if you want.
