Just forget it. Magic and Shouts make it awesome.

Trick is to use low magika spells ( unless your enchantments make it unlimited) The right shouts ( dragon rend only one word) and to ride a legendary dragon if possible. The problem is dragons have a perk that negates 50% of damage to EVERYONE apart from the Dragonborn.

I disagree. I had an epic fight with a revered dragon, mounted on Odahving. Fireballs and dragonrend made it more fun.

Ive only had one fight, was with odaahving against a 'dragon' ( generic weakest type) and could barely hit him with anything and since I didnt have any magika enchantments on I used firebolt as fireball and incinerate ran out too fast. Took at LEAST 20 mins to kill him. I seem to never hit with dragonrend either .
