Dragon dropped in at the collage in Winterhold.

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 4:04 pm

A blood dragon landed near in the collage courtyard, just as everyone was getting ready for routines, and when i was going to turn in a quest. The poor thing dropped dead in 7 seconds. I was rather happy to get another soul almost effort free, and bones and scales too.

This happened with me, just without the other mages. I was on the balcony part too, so I had to jump down so the thing would land.

Last time a dragon showed up at the college, everyone ignored it. This was a very awkward moment for me. Fighting a life and death battle against a dragon. And people just walking around us like it's another day on campus.

Three of 'em have attacked me in the College. The skeletons are starting to pile up.

Yeah, if I were a dragon the College at Winterhold would be very low on my list of places to [censored] with.

Oh yeah, right. I think I encountered two in Winterhold and maybe 3 in Dawnstar.

Same thing. 5 seconds later, fried dragon. The obnoxious version of this was early on in my game. Stupid dragon showed up in Riverwind, Killed the smith there. So, I can't sleep in that house, or buy/sell stuff from him. Bummer.

I get a good laugh every time they land in the College courtyard, the place is a giant, dragon-sized bug zapper for me.

It's like whales beaching themselves... Except without the hundreds of people trying to throw the dragon back into the sky to rescue it.

Dragons have a tendency to reappear near places they die... so if you get one in a city you need to try and lure them away from it...

I've had 2 ancient dragons in Solitude, 1st one was dead sooner then you could say bow r... the 2nd managed to last a bit longer and killed 1 solitude guard.

The advantage of having dragons drop in where there are plenty of NPCs are around is you have to do very little to get the soul. I had one drop into Riften last night, stood back and let others take it down than wandered up just in time to look good and grab the soul. :)

Dragons appear there more than anywhere else in my game... Like every other time I go there. I must have fought at least 15-20 dragons at Winterhold.

Every character I've played has encountered this.

Also, as someone else said, Dawnstar also seems to be a hotbed for dragon activity. I think some encounters are programmed to randomly occur and the College is one of those, and in other situations dragons simply patrol the map and a lot of their routes intersect Dawnstar.

Additionally, near Markarth there seems to be a fair bit of dragon activity. I got jumped by two at once, and then a little ways down the road I encountered another wiping out some Forsworn.
