No Dragon Encounters?

I haven't had any dragon encounters ever since I did the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller quest?? Is it a bug or something??? Now I don't even have souls to unlock my shouts....

You have to do the quest where you and Delphine fight a dragon that Alduin has just awakened. It is the quest right after the horn of Windcaller quest.

Thought the trigger was the attack on the west tower, although I think there may be two different points, one where you get dragons by walls and hanging around in the general area of them, started by the west tower event and then dragons though the world, town attacks etc by the quest at karthwastren (or whatever its called)

That's weird because I was sure killing the dragon at the Whiterun watchtower is what makes the dragons come out. I kind of delayed the quest in which you first see Aulduin awakening a dragon with Delphine and I'm pretty sure I killed quite few dragons before doing that. As a matter of fact I know I killed a few dragons before that quest. So I think you should have triggered the dragons by now.

Yeah, I thought so too, but I NEVER had any dragon encounters ever since that jurgen windcaller quest.

Just did the quest with Delphine, I hope I will get to see a dragon soon, if not I will continue to pursue the MQ.

I'm trying to think of somewhere you can go where there's always a dragon hanging out so you can see if it works. How long has it been since you killed the dragon at the watchtower?

Zroya, you are on to something big here. You need to tell us where exactly you are on the Main Quest line. Are you at the part where you just finished Horn of Jurgen Windcaller and has yet to start A Blade in The Dark? or have you done some of it already? This could be a revelation to Skyrim Dragon Encounters we are witnessing here, folks.

All I can figure is that the random dragon encounters may get "paused" until you do the quest with Delphine.

My current character is right at the part where I have to go get the horn (haven't done it yet) and I still get random dragon encounters out the behind.

It may just be that they get paused until you do that quest with Delphine. Try it.

dragon spawns after completing dragon stone/golden claw quest.

the horn quest is a few quests after that so ur screwed.
or u did not try hard enough to find one.

at that girl, u got a map on the table, take it go to the burrial sites (or how to write it)
do u encounter dragons there? if so all is fine if not wel bad luck.

I don't know. But it might have to do something with the dragons realizing you're a milk drinker and they have more important things to do than fight you. Such as fight butterflies and goats...or the homeless chick in Windhelm. They all pose more of a threat than you do.

I hit a real dragon dry spell for days, game days and real life days. I found a forgotten quest in my journal about a dragon at Shearpoint and then things improved after I did that quest. I've been seeing one a night now for the past 5 real life days or so.

I also haven't done the Diplomatic Immunity quest yet so I'm wondering if it'll pick up as I move the Main Quest along.

The only thing I can tell you is go out exploring and see if you encounter anything. Try looking at a game map on the web and look for an emblem that looks kind of like a dragon head and go there in your game. There aren't many of them but there is always a dragon there protecting a word wall. Well assuming you do have dragons in your game I guess.

Maybe quickly create a new game (without overwriting your current game) and blast through it until you get to the part where dragons are supposed to start coming out. Then go around and see what happens.

It's a weird situation and I wish I could help you. Let us know if you find a dragon. Good luck.

I took a long MQ pause between Horn of Jurgen and Kynesgrove and noticed the exact same thing. As soon as I went to Kynesgrove the dragon attacks resumed

it is, they just increase in frequency as you proceed along the main quest.

I ran into the dragon "pause" as well, same way, by finishing Jurgen Windcaller but not going to Kynesgrove with Delphine.

There were a couple random ones after Jurgen, but they peetered out until I kicked the MQ along.
