Dragon vs. Jet Fighter

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 2:58 pm

When I was much younger, there was a Dragon magazine cover of a fire-breathing red dragon seen though the HUD of a jet fighter. You could see the side of the plane had styalized silhouettes of dragons painted on it as kill markings. I thought that was just the coolest thing back then.

Since then I'd hoped some movie would deliver on that, but they never really have. Unlike that one horrible movie, if dragons were real in the world today, a second rate air force would make short work of them I think.

When they attack me in Skyrim, I often think fondly of my Fallout 3 arsenal. Boy I'd pay Bethesda for a mod that let me bring my Fallout 3 character into Skyrim for a little replay value.

Nah, if Dragons suddenly appeared on Earth (say like, in the movie 'Reign of Fire'), I think they'd make short work of humans. All depends on how numerous they are. Targeting them with anything except a hail of lead would be difficult. Of course, if via satellite we discovered they had nests, well then they'd be gone in a matter of weeks.

C&C Generals for the win.

Yeah, for something similar, didn't someone write this story about how demons started appearing on Earth and we basically own their asses because they had no idea we had advanced weapons. Basically it was written at the time George Bush was president, and was a "what if" scenario involving God telling us "You're on your own, [censored]es!"

Story is goofy as hell, but it's actually pretty fun to read.

No dragon could ever account for advanced technology...

eg: Phoenix Missile up the butt launched from beyond visual range.

Or what about modern AA? A Russian ZSU would shred a dragon to pieces.

Modern jet powered fighter planes are just off topic to Skyrim. If you think about it, you will figure out why.
