So I was riding along outside not far from Whiterun and low and behold a Dragon appears in the sky above me. I stop and get off my horse and ready myself for the battle. The dragon circles around and then swoops down to light the ground on fire, only problem for him is that it catches a Mammoth and now the Mammoth is engaging the dragon! So i just sit there for a few minutes watching the dragon battle the Mammoth. It's the funniest thing. The Mammoth did get the Dragon down to half life but the Dragon won in the end and then came after me. When have you seen a Mammoth take on a Dragon? Anyone seen a Giant take on one?

Also I afterwards I return to Whiterun and as I near the main entrance there lying in front of the main gate is a Dragon skeleton. I was like WTF, did I miss something, a dragon had just attacked Whiterun whilst I was away?

This is why I am finding this game so much fun. You just never know what can happen. There is so much to do all over the place that I have hardly dealt with the main quest line. Sure there are glitches and CTDs with the game and some of the quest lines are really short but overall Skyrim is an outstanding game. Awesome!

I saw a mammoth fall from a sky and hitting the dragon whilst it was fighting another mammoth...

I've had a dragon land right in a giant camp twice before. The first time, the giant killed the dragon while grounded. The 2nd time, it was a tougher blood dragon who killed the giant and the mammoths before I finished it off.

The tricky part in the first one was getting close enough to loot the dragon and get it's soul without the giant and mammoths coming after me. I did a lot of sprinting.....

I've had a dragon ignore me to fight a wolf....one dragon encounter was a royal rumble between me, dragon, troll, bear and sabre cat. Luckily I was using my barbarian nord and my trusty battle axe cleaved them all 1 after another til I was the last 1 standing

I wish I could've recorded that fight, it was close and tough with all thos creatures at once

I had some trouble with a named dragon once. So I ran into a giant camp. The dragon was dead not a minute after landing =P Granted, I'd already done some damage but still...It was absorbing the soul without getting a one way trip to the moon that was a bit tricky.

I was near Kynesgrove and a dragon flew by I threw a few firebolts at it, but it decided to attack a giant and two mammoths. I watched them fight throwing a lightning bolt or two at it. The dragon lost and I was able to get near enough to loot the body and get it's soul without the giant or mammoths attacking.

A slight aside...

Does anyone remember in one of the preview trailers, the PC was running right along side the mammoths and giants for quite a while?

I couldn't do that. If I even look at the mammoths for too long, the giant would knock me over the mountains into Morrowind.

I have a save where Lydia nd I were cutting across the hot springs towards darkwater and I saw TWO dragons. There was a giant camp nearby.
It ended up being Lydia, me, a giant, two mammoths, a cave bear, a sabre cat, three wolves and two dragons, though the dragons came serially. I tried twice to get through there and both times the second dragon was the only one left standing. Crazy scene!
You gotta love Lydia. The girl is a pit bull.
During a different dragon attack I scrambled onto a rock to get some better bow shots at the dragon and had a great view of him hovering over her. She was engulfed in his flame breath and standing in there plugging him with arrows. Great photo op but I was on the ps3.

I did it in my first game. The giant was walking with his mammoths and I was able to walk near it/them. The giant just watched me; the mammoths were indifferent. Cool!

I guess they just don't like me for some reason. Maybe if I caught them as they were traveling they wouldn't be so mean, but in their camps, you so much as look at them wrong and they're attacking.

"Thud. THUD. THUD!" as their footsteps get closer and you're springing for dear life....

Oh yes, you must avoid their camps! They have treasure chests... I managed to loot one once; it was this camp that has two giants and three mammoths. I did it at night in sneak mode.

I saw a blood dragon piss off an entire giant camp. It was a fun fight to watch. Wasnt as much fun though after they finished the dragon and started coming after me. Luckily my horse was their victim, I left the poor thing to be [censored] by 2 giants and a mamooth :/

I saw a bear kill a dragon by itself. Shows how bad leveling is.

Coolest thing to have happened so far was a beast fight! I was near Riverside Shack on my way to the Mzulft ruins, and I spot a giant leading two mammoths. I start to sneak up on them, but before I can start a fight I spot a blood dragon swooping down. He comes after me first, then turns his attention towards my prey. Pretty cool stuff, as the dragon works over the giant from the air, then lands to fight it out with the mammoths. They actually damage him a bit, while I connect with arrows from a distance. Once he's low enough on health, I come in for the kill shot: full-scale Unrelenting Force to lower his head a bit, then 2 swings of an Elven greatsword. The mammoths and giant just walk away, not even worried about me.

A subsequent attempt to purposely set up dragon vs giant/mammoth didn't work out too well for me. Once I finished off the dragon, Mr. Giant set me flying.
