So i've gotten far enough into the main quest to where I just finished Alduin's Bane. Now I decided I would recruit some of the blades, so I've recruited 3 already and am then supposed to talk to Esbern, however Esbern doesn't give me the option to continue throughout the quest. I heard that the quest should have been finished before I did Alduin's Bane or else they would refuse to help me until I killed but I've decided not to kill him.

So what are my choices here? Can I still manage to finish this quest and get the Dragon Infusion Perk without killing you know who?

No, you have to kill in order to progress with the blades.

AFAIK, the quest and perk is bugged anyway, as in the perk doesn't actually do anything.

Reload a save and complete the Quest before doing Alduin's Bane? Only way I can think of.

u think if i did the setstage console codes, would it work? im really ocd about stuff like this.

Kill off the 2 remaining blades instead of your old buddy..

Just use the console to turn off their cheater flag...

Man I hate this. My last save is so far back and I do not want to start over because of a broken quest/perk. Bethesda should have at least made it to where the quest would deactivate after Alduin's bane, now i'm stuck with this.
