Did anyone else see that? New tier of weapons above Daedric (including crossbow and bolts, which we can craft :D).

We'll have to wait for see how they look if Bethesda doesn't decide on releasing images for them.

I haven't seen the interviews yet, but this makes me happy. It gives heavy armor users a reason to invest in Dragon Smithing even though Daedric armor is better than Dragonplate armor. That said, I'm one of those that actually always preferred the look of Dragonplate, so I used it anyway. But Dragonbone weapons sound cool.

No need to be so negative. Not everyone stalks the forums for leaked Dawnguard info, and official confirmation is different to leaked info.

Anywho, I'm not big on Dragonbone weapons, but I'm glad to have them as an option.

Are you the GTFO out Nazi? I've seen you say that at least 3 times. It is old news. And there are other threads discussing Dawnguard's new features.

Technically it is but why would they add new weapons weaker then the weapons we already have?

Not being negative. I was just saying. And when content makes it to Gameinformer it's official.

Hold on, we can craft bolts? It's like a brand new game!
Seriously though, that's a nice addition.

The dragon bone dagger blade better not be a a dragon claw maybe a slice of one but not the whole thing. like the stahlrim dagger that looked like somebody attached a snowcone to the hilt

What about Dragonscale weapons...........

Dragonbone and Dragonscale are both covered by the same perk. Not to mention it's pretty unrealistic since scales are individual pieces (not very sharp looking either) while bone can be cut and sanded to make the sword shape.

I hope they do something interesting with the look of them as well. I only took the Dragon perk in Smithing once, just to see what it was like. When I realized it wasn't much more than something found in Beadrock, I reloaded and have never looked back.

If they continue with the "Captain Caveman" theme, I shall pass on the new weapons I am afraid.

Just an example, they could add weapons stronger than Daedric, but that don't benefit from any Smithing perk, so Daedric is better for those with smithing expertise.

Or, you know, they could just exist to add variety. For example, there's a pretty large gap to fill between Elven and Glass, in terms of leveled items appearing. There's also the obscene rarity of Daedric stuff outside of crafting it yourself.

I get where you're going with this, but really, it is something they've done before.

Morrowind's expansions introduced equipment at various tiers, but to be fair, Morrowind had a lot more wiggle-room. It seriously went Low tier(Iron,Steel,Chitin) - LOLU GUYS svck - High Tier(Daedric, Ebony, Glass.)

So with Tribunal, they introduced Adamantium weapons for mid-tier, and some relics for High-end.

Solsthiem was even better, with Nordic Steel filling out Mid-tier, Stalhrim coming in for High tier, huntsman for Low tier.

Oblivion kind of danced by the issue, by just making all Amber/Madness scale. Probably one of their most shameful moments, though I really loved the design for all the Amber/Madness weapons, especially Madness Axe - Amber Sword.

By the looks over it, Dawnguard has a mid-tier weapon selection. To me, and I hope I'm wrong, it looks like the Silver-ish weapons shown in screenshots like http://www.g4tv.com/images/4664/screenshots-e3-2012-skyrim-dawnguard-screenshots/77807/ and http://www.g4tv.com/images/4664/screenshots-e3-2012-skyrim-dawnguard-screenshots/77799/ might actually be a remesh update of the Skyforge Steel weapons. Others think it may be Mithril, I just have a feeling this weapons suite isn't a high-end series, since Dragonbone takes care of that.
