[REQIdea] Dragonborn+

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 7:11 pm

I had this idea for a long long time, humans with dragon-like wings and tails. Now with Skyrim after brainstorming for a FanFic, I thought 'wouldnt it be cool if being dragonborn had more phyiscal appearance'. This idea was dashed as my thoughts went on to my lack of modding capcity.

I imagined it as basically adding wings and tails from dragons to fit onto vanilla races (ofcourse I know it wont be that simple).

EDIT: Copied thread, more or less, on the Nexus forums. Might get more "traffic" as I'd love to see this come to fruition. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/673862-dragonborn/

I can't quite remember the name of the mod, but someone actually already did a humanoid dragonkin race similar to how you described
but they're not humans i think, its a custom reptilian humanoid dragonkin race.

I wouldnt mind seeign somethign like this.

and to increase on it I wouldnt mind it beign an overhaul of the Main quest as it activates after Dragon Rising (when you gain your first dragon soul)

Would fit in with the Dragon Mulminir saying Dovahkin no before dying.

Though it might be a tad lore unfriendly as Tiber Septim was Dragonborn and he didnt appear as such

Thats what I thought at first when I was chatting with another Forumite about a character who I was thinking of revealing as one.

Ive yet to imagine a full reason why. I was thinking something along the lines of;

Martins divine-infused soul fragmented with the shattering of that amulet. Akatosh for some reason plants this fragment into said character, forcing a more phyiscal change.

I think it would be closer to use the fact that During Tiber Septims reign there were No dragons and link it more to the Dragon souls truthfully.

Maybe make it a Transitional thing of after a certain ammount of things they gain a feature.

The overhaul of the main quest would be more the dialogue of how people talk to you due to the features.

I do like the sound of making a transitional change but I wasnt thinking of overhauling the MQ though.

I was thinking of going so far as even changing the feet to digitigrade rather than plantigrade, like dragons and werewolves feet. Id probably prefer to put a restriction on boots like in morrowind and its beast races. i'd also think about putting a few minor reptilian features in, like small scales down the bridge of the nose, perhaps smaller horns for women and larger one for men.

Still cant think of a name for it.

EDIT; After checking out the dragon language, I wondered if Dovahkiir would work.
