Dragons are easier to kill than ______ and why

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 6:03 am

Dragons are easier to kill than Dragur Scourges. This is because dragons attack in open areas and attack infrequently, giving you time to recharge, run and hide, and think clearly. And when they land, you simply [spolier]walk over to their wing and hack away[/spoiler].

Dragur Scourges attack in cramped dungeons, thus are hard to run away from. Their frost attacks are relentless (though can be dodged if you have the space). Worst, they summon those Frost Antorch which simply stomp the Dragonborn. My only hope to beating a Scourge is finding uneven ground that they and their Antorch can't cross, letting me Firebolt them and hide while recharging.

I have died more times to Dragur Scourges than to Dragons (which is stastically weighted because I've seen more Scourges, but still).

What enemy do you think are harder than Dragons to kill, and why?

I've had more trouble with the vampires that randomly appear when traveling at night. I've also met some briarhearts that are tougher too. I find most dragons an annoyance. I try to kill them quickly so that I can keep as many named NPCs as possible in my game!

Increase your difficulty? That's what I did.. trust me you won't be saying that same thing when you face an Ancient Dragon on Master.

To keep on-topic though: Wispmother's.

Bad enough they're already pretty strong, gotta love when they make copies.

Other then those, Deathlords.. god I swear they just never die!

Some dragons are easier to kill than Draugr Death Overlords.
But not blood dragons, some aincient dragons etc.
Blood dragons are brutal. I got stalked by a very hard blood dragon all over a area once. I ran away he appearred again.
Draugr Death Overlords are one of the hardest enemies in the game.
They're horrible. :(

Wispmothers were pretty scary to me until I learned the secret to killing them: lightning cloak, then get in and bash them relentlessly until they go down. Kind of disappointing and yet cool when you think about it. So dangerous that tactical fighting isn't viable because the longer you fight them, the harder it becomes to defeat them.

Anyway, saying dragons aren't as tough as ___ creature is a bit of a generlization in my opinion. It depends on the environment. Try fighting a dragon in a place where they NEVER land and only hover. That's a long and tough fight for you if you aren't a ranged fighter.

Dragons (Ancient) are more difficult for me than any Draugr. Of course, I'm overleveled (70 assassin type), but I can kill Draugr Death Overlords with 2 power attacks whereas Ancient Dragons take a few more.

Dragon Priests give me some trouble because they obscure my view with spells and float backwards forcing me to chase them. :P Wisp Mothers behave similarly.

Ice Wraiths are a bit difficult, too, because they're difficult to see and their strikeable area is small.

Even though I'm 70 (and 56 on my other) I've found the above to be true at all levels on the way up.

Dragons are easier to kill than the Greybeards. Seriously..although they technically know the Ice Form shout, they don't use it while the Greybeards do. (Disregarding the whole "essential" tag and whatnot)

Interesting stuff. I was speaking of base Dragons being easy. I'm only level 22 if that puts it into perspective. Heck, most of the enemies you mentioned, I've never even seen yet. Good to know there's more challenge out there.

You should be seeing Deathlords as bosses or 'lieutenants' at the ends of the ancient Nord crypts. Eventually the Draugr and Restless Draugr will be replaced by Draugr Scourges, D Wights, and D Deathlords. The D Deathlord boss-types will be replaced by D Death Overlords and sometimes generic "Dragon Priest"s. :P

I just finished fighting 2 Death Overlords and an Elder Dragon....at the same time...on Master. That was a long and fun fight...but not as long as my SECOND fight with an Elder Dragon 5 mins later that wouldn't land at all. And since I only had Ice Storm and Ice Breath to attack it at range, it was a super long battle.

Want to talk about the easiest enemies? Dremora. One hit from a high-level Ice spell will kill em, even on the highest difficulty. (Though I'm using a magic balance mod that scales my destruction damage with my destruction skill level) It's stupid easy.

Arch Mancers are absolutely the toughest enemies in the game, IMO. Much tougher than Dragon Priests, even.

funny lol. Dragons are way too easy and common. I'm an archer with light armor. If they attack me i will be dead in 2 shots. But the with the speed they attack. My grandma could run away from them.

Though dragons are easy for me, they still are 1 of the hardest. Draughr scourges? Lol with my bow and slow time they are dead in 2 hits. And can never get close.
Those Deathlords are way too easy for me aswell....

Though I feel like cheating the way I play, archery on 98. Firing 4-5 times before they reach me. Than if they arent dead switching to 1 hand on 95, and put invincible shout on. And dont stop until its not alive. Yesterday was the first time I actually had to take a healing potion on a non dragon mob. Was a Deathlord boss type, but a special 1 from a cave where you have to find a red sword or sth.

My mage so far has pretty much only had trouble dealing with Dragons. Really, anything else that can one shot kill me is tough too.

All of my other characters have had an inordinately difficult time fighting Snowy Sabre Cats though. I always underestimate them and they end up killing me and walking off with that self-satisfied look on their faces.
I just killed a dragon-god and saved the world only to end up getting [censored]-slapped to death by a smug looking cat. :stare:
