dragons are a-holes

After taking a job at the inn in Windhelm, i fast traveled there, my proud mount at my side, i proceeded to pick up stuff in front of the cave and fish out the alchemical fishes in the pond (there is a pond with a small peer right at the entrance, its next to an imperial camp, south of Windhelm), when i heard a sound you are all familiar with: wings flapping. i thought , yeah right, i'm not loosing 10 min to see if his highness feels like fighting. so when i was about to enter the cave, i heard yet another familiar sound, the landing sound of a dragon. so i thought to myself "bad day for a wolf/fox/brigand around me", then i turned and to my surprise, a frost dragon was munching on my mount! the b@stard! needless to say i got there just fast enough to see my poor 1000 septims Ferrari hit the dirt. that was one of these moment you wish you could take your time and really torture them before killing. that was a really tasty soul let me tell you, went straight into tier two of flame breath :)

anyone else had bad surprises off dragons? (i'm not asking about mounts as they are dumb as hell)

I was doing something in Winterhold once, leaving the tavern, and in the span of five seconds I hear a loud roar, the dragon crashes down on my [censored] head, and does the bite toss instant kill move. I had literally no time to react. Reloaded and it did it again 3 times in a row. On the fourth attempt i just went back inside the tavern.

I had one that pretty much wiped out Riverwood...was a big bad ancient one, when they were big and bad for me. Anyway, it crisped me so I hid under the entrace gate thing, and it had me pinned there as I had run out of potions, and it then crispy fried everyone who came near.

I decided that it was far better to reload than put up with empty Riverwood...that place is too pretty to be full of dead folk.

Fighting a frost dragon on one of their mountain perches, ran in and grabbed the word off the wall.
I preceeded to take a beating, my elf deosn't like the cold it turns out, so I ran into the nearby small shack to recover and draw up a battle plan. Next thing I know it has put it's head in through the roof and given me the one shot kill in it's mouth treatment.

Thankfully I had saved before then, I also no longer hide anywhere from them now if it isn't made of brick or stone.
Tiny shacks are no place for respite from dragons, you have been warned.

NPC behaviour when dragons hit towns badly needs modding. They should run to shelter and hide. That's what the Jarl sent guards to Riverwood for. To get people to safety.

They never stop to think "Is he busy down there? Doing something urgent? Nah, what does it matter, time to go wreck his day"

I was walking from Whiterun towards the tower where I fought my very first dragon. Well, there was a dragon in the field to the right of the bath already engaged in a fight. I thought it was a wolf or goat but as I approached it tossed the farmer that fled Helgen fron it mouth. I slayed the dragon. And laid the farmer to rest. Poor guy, narrowly escapes Helgen with his life only to be killed by a different dragon several months later.

Lmfao. I watched my friend's Khajiit Vampire Archer get killed the same way. First time, we didn't know what type of Dragon it was, we heard the music and the roar, then all of a sudden, he get's hit with Frost Breath and drops dead within 2 seconds, even though he had like 50% Resist Frost from Vampirism at the time. Couple of re-loads later, come to find out, it's a Ancient Dragon, his first one. He tries to hide in a shack to shoot the Ancient Dragon while his Flame Thrall "tanks" (More like get's 1 shotted), thinking he was safe inside the shack. Nope, the Ancient Dragon literally sticks it's head and neck right through the roof, grabs him, and flings him around for a 1 hit kill. He did that repeatedly before my friend was able to get away finally. It was right next to a Word Wall too.
