Dragons are incredibly vulnerable to shield bash

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 10:37 pm

I don't know if I got it terribly wrong or if there's something borked with those dragons - I'm playing on master and I had an incredibly hard time defeating my first three dragons (fun!), stumbled upon two others (or they stumbled upon me) but since I was alone, I'm glad I was able to hide or flee.

Now with Sahloknir (the one you fight with Delphine), I found out that shield bashes don't only cancel their frost/fire breath attacks, it also causes them to stagger dramatically whereas they often could not care less about my most powerful melee attacks - I guess something's wrong there.

I'm mostly OK with the damage they can take and deal, but something's messed up when it comes to shield bashes. It wouldn't even surprise me if I could knock them back like this with a wooden stick bow. Is anyone else getting this?

Maybe they're like sharks: hit them in the nose and it confuses them.

Yeah but no water pyshics and with Metal to the face.Yeah like:
"Oh look i sliced the Dragon face"
"Don't worry it doesn't hurt"
e.e don't undertsand me wrong. But it's normal to me.It's bassicalt the game "rules".

it seems to depend on your block skill which makes perfect sense. at skill level 50 a shield bash might not even phase a dragon, at level 100 im smiting with the force of a god.

As far as I can remember, my block skill was even below 30 at that time, I have to confess that once, even a mudcrab managed to kill me.

Dragons in general, at least to me...stagger too easily, and their stagger animation lasts way too long.

Block is godly in most any situation, as long as the perks don't stop working suddenly.
