Dragonskin Alteration spell with Dragonscale boots and Gaunt

Post » Sun Jul 22, 2012 9:26 am

It seems to work for me. Why does everyone say it wont work with armor? I use Master Robes (Conjuration or Destruction) along with dragonscale gauntlets and dragonscale boots and seem just fine.

Would it work "better" without the dragonscale hands and feet? What is everyone's experience on this?

I think they mean the perk that makes the armor spells, such as Dragonskin, last longer doesn't work if you wear armor. Never heard anything about this spell snubbing those who wear dragonscale boots and gauntlets.

Thats just it. It works for me. This is the first time I played as a conjurer and thought that maybe it wouldnt work. But with Archmage Robes, Master Robes or Vermmeina robes I am pretty sre I still get the perk. Why does everyone say it wouldnt work?

Dragonhide gives you 80% damage reduction, same as best armor. It works the same with or without armor.

Ebonyflesh gives you 12% damage reduction. 100 Armor Rating.

Ebonyflesh with 3 perks in Mage Armor gives you 36% damage reduction. 300 Armor Rating. But if you wear any armor, you lose the Mage Armor bonus, and it goes back to 100 Armor Rating.

If you use Ebonyflesh and Dragonhide at same time, Dragonhide does not do anything.

It affects the Mage armor perk, and that perk doesn't affect dragonhide, because it just gives you the max damage reduction no matter what your armor is.

Its Mage Armor that won't work with normal armor.

The Dragonhide isn't affected by Dragonscale/bone armor. It'll just up your armor rating.
