Drakortha Recommends: Amnesia

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 10:17 am

G'day guys

http://www.drakortha.info/#/dr-amnesia-the-dark-descent/4548022080

This is the first episode of a new show I'm doing called Drakortha Recommends, which can be described as a watered down game review series. Since I'm working on a lot of other Machinimas and also the website, I don't really have the time to produce a full review series with extremely professional presentation and out of 10 scores. The idea I had for Drakortha Recommends is that I would only talk about games that I "Recommend" and there will not be a rating system for the review. I simply talk about games that I recommend you should buy.

It's been a about 3 years since I've done a review like this so I reckon I'm pretty rusty. I'd love to hear from you guys think of it.

Please leave any constructive criticisms you may have below. I really, really want to know how I can improve my new show.

Many thanks.

i still havent beaten this game. i can only play for short periods of time before i have to shut it off and refresh myself. altogether i have spent almost as much time hiding in a cabinet or behind a table as i have exploring and doing objectives. ever little noise sends me screaming for one of my preplanned hiding spots which i ALWAYS figure out after i get into a room. "ok im in here..now where is a wardrobe or a table to hide behind?" the only other recent game that gives me the creeps is minecraft........which is scary but not amnesia scary.

I would extend the review to 5 minutes, and lay off the profanity.

You should touch on a few more things like platform availability, release date, purchase options (steam only, dvd), and a few more of the key aspects such as the puzzles.

Other than that it was good. You got some of the key highlights in.

"You know you are defenseless as a pos on a hot summer's day", lol never knew a pos would think that on a summer's day.

This recommendation actually makes me want to try it out, so your video has served its purpose. :celebration:

What Miles_Acraeus said is sound advice.

I'm gonna have to agree with the others. The swearing ruined it for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a good swear now and again, but it just seemed forced and out of place in a game review. Other than that, it was a decent review, and it did get me interested in the game.

I also agree. The swearing came off as a bit too Yahtzee-cloneish. If the swearing was cut out it'd be a fairly decent review.

Thanks for all your feedback guys. I might try to make my reviews longer, and I'll definitely cut down on the profanity next time.

Cheers
