DRAWING DISTANCE - at MAX still to low

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 9:51 am

Hey all!

Is it any chance that we can get good and detailed far distance sight in Skyrim.
I mean i have all on ultra and no object fade option but still in distant view waterfalls looks like blocks of static grey mass.
And grass and rocks are still showing not far enough, we can see like they show up from nowhere on ULTRA and highest options of view.

The distant views of things you're talking about are linked to grids, not view distance.

You have to increase ugridstoload to 7 or 9 to really improve it, but at a performance cost.

There's also some stability issues related to it, as well. Just something to keep in mind.

Though Ugrids is handy for the best quality and whatnot, it is rather risky. Like what deaths_soul said, it can be unstable, but it can tie on to your save game. For example, lets say the ugrids is 5, you change it, save, but decide to go back to 5, you change it back, but your save wont load.

Not worth the negative effects imo.....7 is hardly much better than the default and 9 or above is bad news bears for gameplay.

Uh, the game cannot use 8 GB of memory. And 13 or 15 uGrids is pretty much suicide. In all honesty, changing from the default is very problematic even if it doesn't seem to be at first.

It is recommended to stick with 5, or 7 if you really must bump it up.
