yes you can get drunk. Eventually it will start to blur your screen and probably mess with some movment.

Do you have a source on this Wastelander? (I'm not being hostile, just curious how you know this :) )

I've seen NPCs stumbling around, so it stands to reason that it would be trivial to script the player to do so.

There is no source on this. He just made it up off of an assumption.
Although, that would make an excellent question for that BestBuy Q&A thing coming up; considering 95% of the questions in the thread were already answered.

I hope they implement this similar to the way Red Dead Redemption did where your dude staggers around until gravity brings him down. HARD.

I doubt first and third person animations would be affected by being drunk, if you can. It would be VERY HARD to change your vats animations for being drunk.

Didn't your screen get all blurry when you got drunk in Fallout 3? I don't remember I never really drank in that game.

Source : The bottle of Whiskey sitting next to my computer :foodndrink: . I'm pretty sure that would cause the screen to get blurry and mess with the movements :ahhh:

... in..... game...? What's that?

Ever Played Mass Effect 2? Great drunk effect though it doesn't last long enough to fight during. 3rd person camera swings around by about 10 degrees, screen blurs, and motion blurs while moving that get more intense the more you drank. Should work well for 1st person as well.

Man, I just hope they didn't implement it like Fallout Wanderer's Edition did. The screen was blurry for a good five-ten minutes. REALLY jarring to not be able to see jack, and frankly, downright annoying. (Although, the V.A.T.S. cheatcode made it moot.)

It would be cool if, when and if you could get drunk, it affected game play:

Messes up aim and V.A.T.S. hit percentage chance
Makes you your fists and melee weapons stronger, but you miss more often.

How about a drunk effect that made you choose the wrong dialogue option? We've all said things we've regretted while under the effects, so maybe you go into dialogue drunk and select one option only to have the more offensive/dangerous one actually stated?

not necessarily. animations of NPCs and Player Paradigm are COMPLETELY different. i would like to see a game in which the controls are actually affected by your drunkenness, like moving the left stick straight forward (O degrees) makes you move as if you had pushed it towards 15 degrees (just right of forward).

Didn't Red Dead Redemption do this?

On the subject of alcohol; can you become addicted to it? (obviously, i mean in-game)
