Dual-wielding build, critiques?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 5:44 am

For my next character I want to make a dual wielding light armor. Most likely Redguard. Thief stone until I get my skills up and then probably Lord stone. He's a righteous character and will fight fiercely for the imperials. Here is the build:

Don't want the poisoner perk because I won't do alchemy. I only chose the right side of the speech tree because I have little financial interest... plan on stealing something if I need it anyway. For factions I will probably join Thieves since I'd feel most at home there anyway.

And in my spare time I think I'll destroy the dark brotherhood!

Poisoned is much more useful than Keymaster. Plant a paralysis poison on someone will guarantee you a 100% success rate when it comes to pickpocketing, so you can also move four of those perks to something else instead, like Light Armor, considering you'll have very little defense if you're dual-wielding. Lockpicking perks are useless in general, as are the Axe/Mace/Sword specialty parts of the One Handed perk tree.

If you're character's so righteous the perks on the right side of the Speech skill tree are largely pointless, since you won't really need to bribe or intimidate people (And why do you need to steal if you're "righteous?") Also, you don't really need to lower the prices of anything, since money is literally no issue in this game.

Your character is righteous, but he steals?

You sure do have a lot of perks in just a few skills. I wouldn't take every perk in any of those. Speach? Lockpicking? Those are really if one plane to RP the character. Otherwise, they do not have any real impact on the game, from what I can tell.

Besides, if you specialize, you will never get much over 45, let alone any where near level 81. To get that high you will have to max every skill to 100. That is also a a daunting task, indeed.

yeah he's kind of like a robin hood type. and i wanted all those 'useless' stealth skills cuz ive never really played thief before. its all kind of for roleplaying. and i have another specialized level 81 character so i don't think its impossible. i realize its pretty idealized. i may end up moving some points to archery.

That's the character I'm playing now. "Robin Hood" So I'm light armor, archery, dual wield with a dagger in my left and a Blades katana in my right hand, and sneak. I also dabble in the smithing perk tree just to make sure everything is top form. I also got the the first blocking perk and the quick reflexes perk. It helps with some enemies as I can just sword/ shield thump them to slow them down a second before I equip another dagger and flurry them with dual blades.

P.S. those useless stealth skills are super fun! Like the silent roll.

Getting to level 81 is hardly being specialized. Because in order to get there, you must raise every skill to 100.

EDIT : Who said anything about Stealth perks being "usless". Or any perk being useless. I never used that term. I am speaking about certain perks outweighing others, in terms of priority.

Understand, I am not knocking how you play. It's your game.

I said Lockpicking perks are largely useless, and considering his character description, the Speech skills he listed are were pointless. A really righteous person has no need to bribe guards or intimidate the everyman.
