Dungeons Are Not Respawning

Not sure if this is happening to anyone else, but dungeons I haven't been to in ages are still not respawning?

This is a frequent issue I have been talking about for a while, my dungeons and above ground in front of the dungeons never respawn and I have waited over thirt days and sixty days.

I am also having respawn issues with my alchemy ingredients, I have plants not regrowing in certain places and there is clusters of plants not respawning and all of the plants in cities never respawn. I have waited over thirty and sixty days for this as well.

I have waited several times in different holds and the issue keeps getting worse and worse.

Supposedly it takes 30 game days for one to respawn and I heard the timer resets if you visit it before that time has elapsed. There are mods that shorten respawn times.

There is a thirt day respawn time but its bugged: somehow dungeons never respawn no matter how much time has passed in game.

There is a bug that makes every dungeon not respawn above and below ground.

People don't respawn, but vacant dwellings do become reoccupied.

Bandit: Are you sure this will make a good hideout?

Bandit Chief: Of course it will! I mean, I know some adventurer came through here and crushed the last group of bandits and stole all their loot. But that was like a month ago. What are the odds of him coming back?

Thunk!

*Bandit falls dead from an arrow to the back*

Bandit Chief: Who's there?

*silence*

Bandit Chief: Must have been my imagination.

I've got this too, but only on my latast character. The previous ones had respawning dungeons. I noticed it when the librarian sent me to the mine just outside Riverwood, which I last visited on day one. Only the bandit at the entrance respawned and inside there was no-one to be seen and that was after over 100 hrs.

The animals on the path to High Hrothgar don't respawn and the giants and mammoths don't respawn (360 btw)

I think the dungeon respawn is random. I've had some respawn on me in less than a day, some that don't respawn for a month, and others that take two or three months to respawn. I was walking outside of the Silent Moons camp one time after I cleared it out and I saw 4 higher level bandits coming toward me so I hid and then I saw them walk right up the stairs and toward the forge. Later, I heard them forging stuff and talking to each other the way bandits usually do.

This is why I hate terms like respawn because then some misunderstand what it`s supposed to be depicting.

Respawning bandits in dungeons is supposed to be giving the illusion of new people who have wandered by and FOUND a cave or ruin, seen that it`s empty and decided to make it their home or hideout. It`s actually a great way to add realism to the game and give Players something more to do instead of having a completely dead world after a bit of time. They are OCCUPYING spare space.

I am always watching for stuff like this as it`s particularly important for a sandbox world game- and I`ve played them since a long time, so i`m pretty sure I`d see the problem if it was there.

I still beleieve that this complaint about non respawning lairs is simply a stubborn misunderstanding of how the game works. I have just been back to Helgen and found new bandits there, just as I have other dungeons. I`ve tested and seen empty places `refill`.

I, and others have said it before and I`ll say it again. You need to stay away from a cell for 30 days (do not go out for that entire 30 days if you want to test for sure), then go look. Everything should respawn with quest things and character npcs possibly being the exception.

I did this test once already and I`m not doing it again because some people won`t accept or appreciate it- Test for yourselves. i`m not wasting my time again.

Now I`ll leave you guys to continue believing what you want to believe.

I don't revisit dungeons unless a radiant quest sends me there a second time. That only happened once or twice. Unfortunately, the level of the bandits within were the same as when I first entered there, and so they died pretty fast.

It would be nice if it was like in Oblivion, where dungeons would re-populate after 3 days. I often raided the same dungeons over and over to do some "shopping" for new equipment.

It's unfortunate, that the series is built so heavily around exploration, and yet, the player is punished for it in Skyrim, if you frequent certain areas or raid dungeons before a quest sends you there, and then the quest can't be completed.

I'm quoting this because it's important. I think a lot of players don't realize that it is not just a 30 day period we're talking about here. It is 30 days since you last entered the cell. If you go back before the thirty days are up you reset the timer. Once that happens you have to wait another thirty days.

I wish it were the case for me. Unless I'm sent to the same dungeon again for another quest - that's when it probably needs to repopulate. Other than that, respawning stuff is very annoying. If it needs to respawn, give it more time, like a year or at least 6 months game time, definitelly a year for plants. Respawning stuff feels so much like MMO. Also, I used to gather plants and mushrooms everywhere I went, to mark territory, as in 'I've been here', thought it'd help to memorize landscape - until I found out that after a few days those snowberries are ripe again. Or the bandits in the towers on the way from Whiterum to Windhelm - always there, just annoying. Why can't they repopulate by other kind of folks each time at least.
