So you remember the dunwich building from FO3. Do you think another place like should be inculded in OWB or LR?

I voted no. In Point Lookout you grab the magic evil book, trek back to the Dunwich building, touch the evil book to an evil statue and poof it disappears.

This is one of the rare occasions that Fallout disappointed me by breaking the usual routine and adding a paranormal touch to the game. Keep the Harry Potter magic out of my Fallout.

I vote yes. The Dunwich building added a very good spice to the world of Fallout 3. It scared me enough that I avoided walking by the building itself.

One thing I would REALLY like to see though, and I hope to in Old World Blues, is a military base. Like the one with the Experimental MRV or with the Power Armor in You Gotta Shoot Em in the Head.
I got excited when Joshua said the White Legs raided one in honest hearts. I thought we would get to see it, and exploit it for all it's loot.

But I was disappointed.... ; ;

Maybe not a Dunwich Horror, but definitely an H.P. Lovecraft story.

I voted no for Dunwich. We already have a survivor horror experience called Dead Money. We don't need anything else.

Lovecraft though I would not say no.

Would be a good idea, but. . . . . would require the "Wild Wasteland" trait. New Vegas unlike Fallout 1,2,3 edits out all the weird interesting things that kept the wasteland from being to serious, unless you you waste a trait. With that being said, i always shot the spammer in the head.

Part of what made Dunwich so scary was the infestation of ghouls. Mindless former humans all wanting to eat you, hiding in the dark. The Reavers made it especially frightening, since they were so damn durable.

I dunno if ghouls would work as well in New Vegas though. There doesn't seem to be a large emphasis on them in Vegas. Sure, they're around, but I think a spooky building filled with Cenetaurs would be scarier. Some kind of mutation center.

With a reference to the human centipede thrown in.

I would enjoy another dunwich. that place was creepy on so many levels. Makes you wonder wtf was going on back pre war in that building concidering all the effing ghosts that appeared as ghouls. Makes you wonder if what we fought were really ghouls or maybe we were made to think they were eh? That place made me go :ahhh:

It was an interesting location and it was isolated and away from normal gameplay enough that the split second ghost thing was OK, but the book from Point Lookout? Never again. Anyway, Dunwich was a unique experience and I don't really want anything like it again. It would also be a mistake to try to create another experience like it, IMO. It would be better if they made new content based solely on what fits and is fun/interesting. Not saying "Oh, there was this one building we did in Fallout 3 that was a big hit, let's make Dunwich 2.0!".

If you really just meant more horror experiences and not another dungeon area with ghosts and Lovecraft, I would definitely be open to that. We haven't run across a basemant filled with emaciated people being kept and harvested for food in Fallout yet, for example.

Exactly! But yeah another place similar to the Dunwich Building would be appreciated lol, there was really nothing that scared me in Fallout NV, I just wanted to finish Dead Money as fast as possible just for the items, the scare factor was low even in that DLC, although the story was good.

NEVER AGAIN!

I don't want Dunwich part 2, but something spooky would be nice. DM didn't scare me as much as it irritated me (constant death isn't too fun) but the ghost people weren't scary enough...MOAR CREEP FACTOR!!!

I would love to see something akin to H.P. Lovecrafts story "The shadow over Innsmouth" like a sidequest where you look for a persons family member at some lonely little town by a river or lake where some strange symbiosis is occuring between town wastelanders and the mirelurks/lakelurks.

Why should we bring anything back from 3? This is an entirely new game. It's original, let's keep it that way. No I'm not talking about the engine. I'm talking about the story, the clothing, the armor. It's better, it's original, keep it that way.

Considering I don't believe in the paranormal, I rationalized the Dunwich experience as a hallucination....the mind is very powerful.

New Vegas lacks any epic locations like Fort Constantine, Dunwich building, the D.C. mall, and all the other cool places in Fallout 3.

Please don't. The fact that you can't talk to that ghoul nor the building have actual sinister propose makes it a big waste of resource. Not to mention the "Evil Tome" quest is rather tasteless

I'm not sure about in a DLC but I do miss being freaked out like I was in FO3. Remember the Deathclaws? Old Olney scared the crap out of me. That is until I leveled up enough and had Fawkes with me. "Just... Stand... Still... Ahhhh..."
Ahh, good times. :fallout:
