Dwemer-made unique items

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 5:34 pm

I'm interested in finding a Dwemer-made artifact or unique items to use for my Dwemer roleplay toon. I understand Skyrim has Volendrung like Oblivion but it seems less of a Dwemer artifact in skyrim... although the lore behind it would allow me to keep true to my RP. I'm curious if there are any other weapons, or armours which are unique or artifacts that I can also look for. I'm pretty sure Volendrung is the only one in Skyrim, but I may have over looked others..

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Spellbreaker is a dwemer artifact. I'm guessing Keening is too, but I haven't found that myself yet.

Forgot if there are any rare dwemer made weapons...

BUT one shield in particular comes to mind. Its called spellbreaker:

Its an extremely kick butt shield that also casts a ward every time you block to protect you from spells and elemental damage (Im pretty sure it can help block dragon's breath as well but still need a bit of testing). I use it for dragon priests and other extremely powerful mage enemies.

The Spider Control Rod! You'll find it in the 2nd area of Calcelmo's Museum, and it looks pretty nifty!, Then as people have said, Spellbreaker, Keening, Volendruung.

Be creative! You can always enchant your own dwarven sword and give it a cool name!

How not? They are weapons named by the Dragonborn himself. :teehee:

I'm afraid I'm not much help on the subject, though I find it odd that a few of the existing dwemer artifacts are given as rewards for daedra quests. It'd make more sense to me to have them at the bottom/end of some of the more complex dwemer ruins... or even blackreach.

There arn't anymore. Spellbreaker is the best, and the only one you don't have.

Unless your Dragonborn's name is Dwemer. Literally. *Non-Sense*

The Daedra were the opposing gods against the Dwemer gods of Reason and Logic. It's one final act of spite against the Dwemer.

Seems that some people are doing a similar rp toon idea, or just happen to like this sort of gear...

Sounds like good Mod opportunity ;)

Keening is indeed a Dwemer-made weapon.

In fact (spoilers for Morrowind ahead),

Keening was one of the things the player had to find and use in Morrowind to beat the main quest. Supposed to be one of the most powerful and rare Dwemer items ever, if not all Tamriel. (Though its stats in Skyrim don't do the Morrowind version of Keening any justice)

I love mods that introduce Artifacts and/or Normal Weapons.

I simply cannot stand to those Anime-Like Giant Sword of Doom Mods.
(Yes, I know I don't need to use them. I just dislike them. Maybe I have prejudice.)

I find the idea of a mod that placed artifacts at the bottom of Dwemer ruins as a prize would be nice... even if they are of varying usefulness... some junk, some not. Those ruins always seem to be a test of sorts, or at least lengthy enough to allow for a prize at the end.

I saw that in the wiki, as I've not actually played Morrowind... I hate that they made it a wussy replica of the original. I may still use it as a side arm for my Dwemer warrior!

Sunder, Wraithguard and Keening were tied to the Heart of Lorkhan in a way that we most likely will never understand. When the Heart got destroyed I imagine it started losing some of it's powers.
