Your pretty daft for thinking the 'Notched Pickaxe' has anything to do with Minecraft.
Proof & Point : Oblivion has a Notched Pickaxe too.

Last time i checked oblivion came about before anyone ever knew Notch existed.

Did it? Oblivion had the recently used pickaxes who was just as useless as the standard pickaxes.

One fun bug in Skyrim mining is that if you have one pickaxe and use it as weapon and start mining you will see one pickaxe in the belt and one you use.

So, maybe the word Notched would make sense apart of the name "notch".

Notch is a small mark or cut in something, usually wood or metal.

You do realise that a notched item is one with has a notch in? Notched items have been in TES games for ages...

It is interesting that Notch tweeted 'Adding the Toddhowared Pickaxe to Minecraft..' don't you think? Being that Todd Howard is Game Director and Executive Producer for Bethesda Game Studios.

This bit of fiction is making the rounds on forums pretty fast - and a quick search through the Elder Scrolls Construction Set will show it to be completely false. You've got a pretty awful standard of proof there.


Really now? I searched the database of items for Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion. There were not notched pickaxes let alone any other notched items. I did a google search and I did find numerous threads regarding this easteregg where someone has made this claim; this appears to be the only source of information suggesting there was ever a notched pickaxe in previous games, someone persistently posting that such was the case. This does not appear to be true at all though.

Im interested to see what JoxerNL and Emphursis have to say on the matter.
