headshot with a sneak crit using a sniper rifle seemed to do the most damage. silencer helps, they wont figure out where you are if youre far enough

gauss rifle worked good for me

Sniper rifle works best, Silencer makes it a piece of cake.

I took out an entire clan of em near vault 19. standing on top of a crate at the rock crusher south of Vault 3. Not one of them knew what hit em before the head was rolling across the ground.

Only thing that gives me trouble are Cazador swarms. they realy creep me out too.

If you can't can't kill them in two or three shots, hit the legs first. Will give you ample time to finish them off.

Silenced Sniper, leg shots so they don't outrun you, pop a stealth boy if needed, sneak headshot.

Oh, and put some frag mines in front of you (far enough you don't get blown up) just to be safe.

Yeah gauss rifle does the trick
