Easy Way to Steal Items and Stay Hidden

Post » Fri Apr 22, 2011 11:00 am

I don't know if there is already a post for this idea and most of you might already know about it, but this is for the people who don't.

Lets say I walked into the Silver Rush. There are plenty of tempting things to steal on the counter and all around the building, but there are about six people in the same room. Sure you can spend some minutes looking for an awkward spot to stand in, all while watching the guards continuously, but I just recently realized that you can pick up an item using the right thumbstick without alerting anyone or turning them hostile. Then you just drag all the items to some corner where no one is watching and begin to loot an entire building of their merchandise.

Yes I know its pathetic that I didn't figure this out while playing Fallout 3, but for those of you who are like me and still don't know, well then now you know.

I think in FO3 (or maybe it was just Oblivion) you couldn't do this because people would call you out for stealing when you just pick up using the thumbstick. I'm not sure if it was intended or if it was a bug, but it certainly prevented this sort of playing the system.
