Ebony vs Deadric armors

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 10:11 am

Well I just made Deadric armor despite having Ebony armor, I tried it on and It had same armor rating as my Ebony one because when i made ebony armor i had some blacksmith philters.
But I just wanted to know which one you prefer?
Or some other you like?

Ebony = Best looking. Daedric and dragonplate armor are ugly as hell.

Your blacksmith skill doesn't affect the quality of the items you create. Upgrading them on the bench does.

Personbally I prefer the Iron Armor.

Then yeah, everything is correct.

Honestly there is no armor or clothing I like and I've seen them all. The least horrible are the Steel and Iron armors.

This. And when fully upgraded with high smithing and blacksmith potions, the difference in armor is minimal.

Ebony looks 1000x better. I don't like the Daedric this time around.

I generally prefer light armors, but ebony looks better to my eye than daedric.

My character's also wearing Ebony but ready to upgrade to Daedric, although I preferred the "look" of Ebony, not too fancy.
But I'd get the Daedric retexture mod before forging a Daedric armor..

After making Deadric I just gave it to Lydia - She has Deadric set, deadric sword and Ysgrimors shield.

For pure appearance, Ebony Armor all the way, it is the best looking armor in the game, by far! For armor value, Daedric - my Daedric armor puts me close to a 1000 armor rating, while my Ebony is in the 500-600 range. (I think, I will have to look at it later tonight to be sure.)

I've liked the look of all the armors I've seen so far - a vast improvement over Oblivion, and they were pretty decent there too, except for glass, which seemed to be translucent green plastic. Daedric looks good to me, but only fits a person who's some sort of unrepentantly evil warrior or warrior-mage, in my opinion. The lower-level to mid-tier armors - fur, hide, studded, iron, banded iron, leather, steel and steel plate - look the most realistic overall, but I can't knock the looks of the Dwarven, Elven, glass and ebony armors. Orcish looks pretty realistic too, to be honest.

I used the Steel armor (not plate) with the pauldrons for long time. Now i use a Guard Armor. It looks....well.....better then all the other.

Ebony's great looking and daedric is nice for an evil type. I prefer the less fancy styles, though. I love the guard armor, hide, studded, scaled, iron, and steel (not plate) variants.

Prefer Ebony Armor, specifically Ebony mail. Daedric weapons however, I would much rather have, although I haven't run into any yet, and can't forge my own until I can take that perk even though smithing is at 100.

I use Orcish armor as my top tier for males, with Blacksmithing and leveling up my heavy armor it comes on par with Ebony anyway.

I would buy DLC purely for new armour sets available, maybe some extra weapons.

The thing that spoils daedric the most is the pauldrons..

I LOVE dragonplate armor ( im one of the few :D ) but i wish it had the shoulder/neck armor of the dragonscale armor.

As for daedric vs ebony, ebony looks better except the gauntlets, helmet and boots.

Yeah, your damage resistance from armor caps out (without getting into complex math) at 567. Anything past that's fluffy ego boosting only. Dragonscale + Shield on the light side can hit it fully smithed (and with all light armor perks), and Steel Plate/Orcish/Ebony/Dragon/Daedric on the heavy side (lower types require perks to boost effectiveness though). So anything of those six styles all end up being equally efficient when fully smithed (Glass might too, if you have a good shield to go with it).

I prefer Ebony in this game.

I didn't like it in Oblivion, although alot of people did. To me in Oblivion it seemed too rigid and clunky looking. But in Skyrim ebony armor looks really nice. Ebony weapons too.

I heard there was a glitch were ebony did not work with matching set? I personally like ebony except for the helmet it ruins it for me, while i daedric has the coolest helmet in the game
