I waited until after the MQ and he never would spawn. I suggest not risking it.

Dragonborn. I've tried it on 3 seperate characters, all of which he won't spawn if I go straight to Solstheim and start it. So I had to backtrack through saves, and find the one prior to the MQ, and just saved it to Cloud so I had the fight on there.

Oh So he just walks with the guys who Start the Quest for Dragonborn. Ok Ok.

Looks like I'll have to wait until I use another character. I'm not 81 but I already did the DB MQ. Oh well, there's still a legendary dragon to look forward too.

I was contacted by the ebony warrior twice; once before finishing the MQ and once after. You just have to be patient and wait for him to come to you...

Get to level 81 and then travel between the 9 holds, primarily the major ones (Whiterun, Windhelm, & Solitude)

He'll show up. It's not hard.

Lol. Patient. 3 days later......... Oh, you were serious?

Edit: On a serious note, I have tested it on 3 characters. He doesn't come. Period. I only encounter him before the MQ is started, not after. Patience has nothing to do with it.

You have to be level 81... so of course he isn't there if you're not level 81.

I am 81. JHC do you naysayers at least read all the posts before posting? I said I have encountered him. I have 3 81s. He won't spawn if I do things a certain way.

Are you totally uber'd out? My first character I met him with was completely boss (armor, health, & weapons) and he never showed up. I 'downgraded' my stats and the next time I visited Windhelm he was waiting. Could that be it?

So I'm 81 but not capped and this guy is not showing up. I loaded up 2 other characters where I hadn't started DB but was capped 81, an he showed up no problem.

Do I need to be capped? Does he not show up after you start DB? Or do I just need to keep waiting?
