Elder Scroll bugged? : V

So I completed the game today, and the Elder Scroll is 20 pounds of paper sitting in my inventory. Was it supposed to be taken from you at some point, or is this another quest item bug?

Sell it for 2000 gold to the orc librarian in the College of Winterhold

Select the dialogue option "So you interested in an Elder Scroll?"

You need it for two quests:

The Main quest and a side quest called "Discerning the Transmudane." If you did both, you don't need it anymore and can sell it to the orc book vendor in the College of Winterhold.
