Elder Scrolls VI Wishlist

Oh, Skyrim- love is blind and despite your flaws, you have a special place in my heart. When it comes down it, Skyrim is a feeling. When Fus Ro Dah begins to play with the Skyrim emblem embroidered in the background, you enter a different place. Forget dragons, forget casting spells, forget slashing Restless Draugr, the Skyrim experience peaks in the more subtle moments, like following the river from Riverwood to Whiterun in the midday sun, kneeling before a waterfall in Markarth, or walking through the fallen leaves in the forest near Riften. The game is huge and loud and epic, but it is also peaceful and tranquil and sometimes even meditative.

To begin, my tastes don't reflect the common ES player. I don't care about 'leveling up' or stats in general. I think the leveling system in Skyrim is great and I also love the perk tree- I get excited each time I get to choose a new perk. I don't role play to a hardcoe extent, I don't have an intricate backstory. Sure, my guy is fleet of foot and prefers archery 9/10 times over battleaxes/swords, and he only fights in self-defense, and never steals from friends or children, but I am not strict with any practices, I am more or less myself as depicted in the virtual world.

And oh the world! The best part of Skyrim is exploring the world, and I can't fault Bethesda for putting their focus toward immersion. Bethesda did a great job with the different regions; they are diverse, yet believable as parts of the country. From the autumn colors in the southeast to the painting-like rolling hills of The Reach, the game is stunning. It's clear the Elder Scrolls series has mastered atmosphere and setting. Many complain about shallow quests, and the complaints are warranted, but there are terrific quests too (see Pelagius Wing).

As a whole, Skyrim is a superstar amongst video games, a first ballot hall of famer. Still, the Elder Scrolls has huge room for growth.
I've added some elements to improve the Elder Scrolls franchise. Please contribute your own ideas and we can compile a list!
