Elemental Fury glitch

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 3:13 pm

I've got a very annoying glitch right now where the "windy" sound of the Elemental Fury shout is stuck on for my character. I've tried everything to dispel it - using it again and waiting for it to wear off, dropping my weapon, fast travelling, soft and hard resetting, etc....

Does anyone know how to get rid of it? It's really ruining the immersion for me when all I can hear are the sounds of a bloody hurricane while I do anything at all... thanks.

PS I'm on the PS3 so I can't use console commands

You may be able to clear the cache (like 360) and then just have to re-download the patches (only thing I can think of).

I am no PS3 expert here, but maybe someone can elaborate some more on if this is possible.

I experienced the same thing on Xbox. From what I found online, the only way to get rid of it is to be hit by an Unrelenting Force shout so that it knocks you over (like when you go in the 3rd person and see yourself flopping on the floor). Otherwise, it stays with save files and no amount of reloading, recasting the shout, or switching weapons will get rid of it. Reverting to an older save is the only way I have found that gets rid of it permanently. Unfortunately, this essentially makes the Elemental Fury shout unusable since it can glitch at any time...

Was actually just about to say this after looking on Google :P

Some people also mention getting killed or jumping from a cliff...
(easier to test I suppose lol)

Thanks for the answers, I'll try them all out. It's very frustrating because I really like this character but can't bear to listen to this whooshing sound all the time!

Yea, I lost ~3 hours off my last guy, but since I've already gotten him to level 35 I didn't feel like starting over so I just went back to a previous save. I've been using Unrelenting Force ever since...
